Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
I've heard a short course of
prednisone
helps in preventing the development of TED. But by how much? Safety: my partner is severely immunocompromised. The leaflet says to keep away for 14 days after RAI treatment. But it also says stay away for 24 days if in close proximity with someone.

New to PMR
I've been on
prednisone
now 9 weeks starting at 30mg (now on 27mg). Have been taking liqourice root and tumeric supplements the last 3 weeks also. Has anyone else been diagnosed under 50? Its been 2 years of constant pain basically which isn't greatly improved still.

PMR Cured?
After 9 years and 11 months I have finally weaned myself off
Prednisone
. I started at 20mg per day for PMR and used the slow reduction method to reduce the dose. For some years I could not drop below 3.5mg and thought I would be on Pred forever.

anti depressants and prednisone.
Is anyone taking antidepressants while on
prednisone
? I’m currently on 9 mg I’ve been on them at various times, but not since I got PMR/GCA. Everything seems to be piling up and I’m having difficulty. I have a therapist, we do phone calls, she’s in Florida and I’m in California.

Can pred cause dementia-like symptoms?
Is this
prednisone
or the disease? I do not think it is actual dementia. I am only 53, and when I am not working I can think clearly. It's more like an inability to cope with any kind of challenge. Can I or should I start another class of immune suppressants to reduce the amount of pred I take?

Does GCA Recur ?
After taking
Prednisone
only, and a few minor flares, I have slowly tapered down and as of June 29th 2023 am now off of the steroids. My question is, does GCA return, and if so, at what percentage? Thank you so very much for this site.

Off Prednisone?
Finally did it:-). How long until one feels symptoms returning if they are going to? I just took 10 months reducing from 3mg. (Started at 40!)

Is it normal or a flare??
My question is if it is normal and acceptable to have some discomfort even while taking
Prednisone
, or if it is a reaction to reducing it or if this is considered a flare? Thanks!

GCA and starting Actemra at 10 mg
The first time (2017) I also had PMR and tapered
prednisone
over 4 years, very slowly. After almost a year off of
prednisone
completely I contacted GCA again and started again at 60mg
prednisone
. Actemra was not started until I was at 10 mg.

PMR or Fibromyalgia?
I am tapering my
prednisone
but am having a hard time determining if I have a FM or PMR flare. Do any of you have both and, if so, how do you know which is which? Thank you in advance!

Alternating between 3 and 4 mg pred now
I was wondering when the hand surgeon October 4th appointment, if he will do the tendon operation. and If that will relieve that neuropathy feeling or if the
prednisone
has caused the neuropathy, see I am an insulin dependent diabetic.

I discovered Metoprolol may cause arthralgia- myalgia
I have not felt much or any shoulder or hip pain since starting
prednisone
, and even big reductions in
prednisone
never brought those back. 2 weeks into starting
prednisone
at 20mg after PMR diagnosis, knee pains came on strong enough could hardly walk and that knee pain seems to randomly come and go
