Flares trying to get from 9 mg to 8 mg
I changed the timing of that so that it shouldn't interfere with the absorption of my
prednisone
.

cataracts
I was told today, that because of being on
prednisone
, I have a cataract in each eye (the left is much worse than the right). I was wondering if this is a common thing? I am young to have them, as the eye specialist says it usually is seen in people who are older than I am.

Flare Protocol
I just spent a month at 2.5 mg
prednisone
and was going to 2 mg when I started to notice more stiffness in my right wrist, lower back, shoulders and neck. This has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of weeks.

Trying to figure this out.
My other thought is I might be able to taper the
prednisone
more easily since I’m getting steroid inhaled. I am still losing weight though; maybe that will change.

? I had a bleed at 5am this morning (I’m 6 weeks, 3 days) and am going to get a scan tomorrow to check on things. I’m taking clexane every other day and wondering if I should take it today after the bleed?

History of Hypothyroidism on Maternal Side (Gma, mom, aunt, sister). HELP! Should I get tested?
I was put on a
Prednisone
taper starting at 60mg. Throughout the time between 2006 and 2024, I have regular flare ups. I’ve torn two rotator cuffs, awoken to swollen hands or feet that cannot move (imaging shows calcium deposits).

Battling Outbreaks
Am currently in an asthma flare and already dealing with an outbreak and I need to take
prednisone
which usually gives me an outbreak. Not sure weather I should hold off on the valtrex till done with the
prednisone
or start taking it to help try to curb it from being too bad.

retiring: Anti-Rejection Megication Questions
I’m only taking Tacrolimus and
prednisone
at this point as far as anti-rejection meds go. My other meds all come through regular CVS and are fairly inexpensive with the exception of the insulin I now have to use post transplant.

prednisone and antibiotics
Has anyone had a problem with antibiotics wiping out
prednisone
. Was down to 2.5-lowest in 8 years. Took antibiotics (Bactrim) and all old PMR symptoms came back. Hurt all over. Read Bactrim and Cipro are quinolones and do not work well with Steroids. Neither Dr or pharmacist knew this.

Confusing Lab Test Results
This did happen after I was diagnosed and started on 15mg of
prednisone
. After a month of pred, I was solidly back in the normal range from a high of 67.

Kaiser Fresno has stopped prescribing Xtandi, even for people midstream with it. they are switching over to xytega and prednisone.
I went to renew my monthly , extremely effective , Xtandi a couple of days ago and today I’ve been told that my Xtandi prescription has been canceled, and I see on my prescriptions list, Zytiga and
prednisone
. Never a single word from anybody about this for anything.

Flare I think
I've had a very stressful last 5 months.Iam feeling a bit more achy and I upped my
prednisone
from 8 mg to 10.Did that for 10 days then went back.My question is I now have swelling in my upper arms and in both legs below my knees.Should I reluctantly go up more than 10mg?

Moved from Abi to Nubeqa and saw a PSA increase
I recently switched from Abiraterone/
Prednisone
to Nubeqa because of the high blood pressure that I had with Abi requiring additional BP meds. I was previously .058 a month ago when I switched and .109 today, almost double in a month. Any one with experience with this switch?

Remission
I have been off
prednisone
since last July, and Actemra since last October. I have not had any further GCA symptoms. I had an appointment with my rheumy earlier in the week and he feels it is safe to say it is now in remission.

What exclusionary tests should I ask my doctor for? IL-6 inflammation tests? + other random PMR questions
But myeloma does come kind of close, and apparently
prednisone
is used to help treat myeloma (though maybe wouldn't have had the dramatic success it's had for me?).
