Steroid Taper

I want a schedule to taper my prednisone 5 mg use.

I believe it is called Steroid taper application

Now you have posted, relevant, previous posts about tapering will appear, probably on the right of your post. Also, If you have a look in FAQ'S you will find a lot of information regarding tapering. Personally, particularly from a low dose, I use a DL (Dorset Lady) 0.5mg 5 week taper. However, the time is not set in stone and you should only start the next taper when you feel happy with where you are. With Adrenals in the mix at this level the last thing you need is to be rushing to get down to a lower level.

Not much info in your bio but do you have PMR or GCA and has trying to go lower not been successful?

Haven’t tried yet but doc said ok but did give any guidance so I’ve been trying to find info on a schedule and be able to discuss it with him in my next appt.

Thanks, I’m going to try the 26 day taper and see how it goes, I’ve missed a single dose bf and didn’t even realize I had until the day and so took my regular dose. I have a dose reminder app and apparently I checked as taken then got distracted…. Anyway thanks a bunch for your help!

Get a dosette box to go with the reminder app - then you can see if you have taken today's dose. I just use an alarm on my phone - but still capable of switching off the alarm and not taking the pill!!!
