Minor heart attack
Hi, I am 52 and been told I have at some point in last few months suffered a minor heart attack. I have a myocardial perfusion test coming up. I have no heart problems in my family, and I'm not overweight. I am quite shocked about it and worried, hoping that my test shows nothing serious. Any reassuring

I am aged 79. On 31 July my wife took me to Kingston Hospital with chest pains-I felt as if I had been kicked in the chest by a horse! It was 4 pm and A & E was empty. Within minutes I was in the Resuscitation Unit and over the next 5 hours had blood pressure and temperature taken, oximeter reading

In 2015 left leg pain started. Diagnosis a year later via several MRIs was l4/l5 spondylolisthesis, disk herniation, central stenosis, pinched exiting nerves. Three surgeons sugested fusion, one suggested laminectomy. I elected the later in 2016. it did not work. Contrary, i had increased pain. i tried

Malignant Pleural Effusion
My father is recently diagnosed with malignant
pleural
effusion
(water on the lungs). I think this is worse than all the bone and lymph node mets from the PCA. The water on the lungs also contents small cell type cancer.

First week on Caelyx/Carbo- lungs hurting
My first time round, I was very sick when I started Chemo and had a
pleural
effusion
that crushed my lugs, along with several
pleural
embolisms. I was also very anaemic, but I was so sick from the cancer, I couldn’t tell what was causing what.

Treatment by ECP (external counterpulsation) - update
Months ago, I wrote a lengthy post extolling ECP and promised an update later. I am starting a new thread for my (again lengthy) update. Am I still glad that I had ECP? Yes! Has it completely relieved my symptoms? No! (Not yet). ECP is a non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical treatment described below

TKR April 2018 stiffness and sore at 7 months out.
Hi, Im 7 months out of TKR and wish I had never had this surgery. My knee is very mechanical feeling, sore and stiff. I have pretty good range of motion but not w/o pain. I dont need any pain meds and I dont take any RX or OTC drugs. I suspect my spine is the culprit as Ive have spinal fusion at L3-L5

Unexpected elevated and erratic blood pressure
Please could the community help with answers on my recent readings of elevated systolic blood pressure. I have been on Eutroxtig for about 25 years and always been very healthy with normal or low blood pressure of between 110-120/80mm Hg and resting heart rate of around 54 bpm. I'm vegetarian, weight

Heart Failure Genetic or Not!
Evening everyone, recently diagnosed with left ventricle failure. Completely shocked as very healthy or so I thought. All started due to BP suddenly being 185/125. I've had echocardiogram (which diagnosed problem) and have recently had a myocardial perfusion scan which confirmed problem (40% ejection

I suffer from Bronchiectasis, YNS & mild Lymphedema. We lost our baby boy at 6 days old is there anyone who can help?
My boy passed away 2016 of
pleural
effusion
on the lungs, I have been told this may have been genetic but they can’t find the gene. I am desperate to be a Mam but I’m being told there is a 50/50 chance this may happen again. Can anyone help?

Ibrance/Letrozole/blood thinners
Nodules shrunk significantly and
pleural
effusion
gone. I'm so grateful for that. Now my oncologist/hematologist is putting me back on blood thinners. (Lovonox followed by Predaxa). Is any one of you on thinners?

Hi, I’ve just joined as I’m currently under investigation for EDS, but we are unsure what type. I have a rheumatologist appointment on Tuesday and it seems it is with a really good Dr, he is also a medical director or something fancy like that. I’m just wondering what may happen? My GP completely

Question about post surgery X-ray
I just had an X-ray and it showed
pleural
thickening and
pleural
effusion
. The Dr didn’t say any thing about it at my appt. I saw it on the report on the X-ray. I looked up to see what this was but not sure of the consequences. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I was diagnosed with RA age 24, after a deep personal trauma and acute stress. However, I feel like I have always had symptoms since I was a child - I loved gymnastics and despite being a robust, healthy child, doing anything too extravagant always caused me pain (handstands). As a teenager, I

Pulmonary Issues with RA
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with RA in 2004 as a result of a
pleural
effusion
. Over the years I 've been on Humira, Enbrel, and Orencia along with 10mg Prednisone and Mtx. My current Rheumatologist took me off everything except prednisone and substituted Mtx with Leflunomide.
