Why is the vien where canulla was inserted in hand, sore I can feel vien is hard to touch from my hand to near elbow!! Any thoughts?

Had full spinal fusion April 2018 then a fall on concrete steps July same year, because of back pain from op I didn't realize I had done any damage had x-ray they found 6 screws and the metal hooks had come out, had an op 3rd Feb to put it right from about a week after my arm been hurting and can feel vien hard the other arm is fine can't feel a vien what's wrong?

Apologies if I’ve interpreted your question wrong. Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time with your health. It sounds like your symptoms indicate phlebitis - an inflammation of a vein. Sometimes the way a cannula is inserted, or the substance that’s given through it, can irritate the vein. It’s fairly common and while uncomfortable it’s generally harmless. However, if you notice a lot of redness, increasing pain, and increasing heat to the area, particularly if you have a fever, it’s probably best to check in with your GP.
