PLEURISY/PLEURAL EFFUSION
I have had
pleural
effusion
for 4 weeks now but the pain is still intense and it's not going away. I have SLE and other illnesses and have had this before but didn't take long to settle.

Then the left
pleural
effusion
started to become a problem. The lung team felt I needed to be back on chemo so wrote to my oncologist. CT scan showed stable disease but in addition to pleural effusions I had the start of ascities.

Fibromyalgia and statins
Via CT scan I have recently been diagnosed with dense calcification to LAD, but because I reacted badly to the dye used in the scan the images were not good enough to assess properly. I am awaiting a myocardial perfusion and in the meantime have been put on aspirin and bisoprolol and a statin. I suffer

Pneumonia, empyema, pleural effusion and anaemia 8 months later
I had a CT scan and was told I had empyema and
pleural
effusion
/loculation. They tried to drain my lung twice and couldn’t. Next step was to have the radiology team drain it or find a thoracic surgeon to drain it.

Symptoms all mixed up now
I am sure it will stop the
pleural
effusion
and help with some of the more difficult symptoms , maybe even knock back the disease for awhile once again, but it's the aftermath I worry about Feeling much more between a rock and a hard place than I have ever felt before... and wondering what I should

My juicing formula for my mother with stage 4 primary peritoneal cancer/ovarian cancer now almost fully recovered
She first suffered from
pleural
effusion
as the cancer has spread to her lungs. From the lung fluid extracted doctor found cancer cells and that's how the cancer was discovered.

Hello!
Then, between two routine scans, a left
pleural
effusion
went from trace to completely filling the left
pleural
space. I underwent left thoracentesis, and soon thereafter started BR chemo.

Scans
Hi All, The myocardial perfusion scan, went well yesterday. It was a stress one. I was told they may ask me to come back for a rest one? Saw my GP today. She changed my Gtn spray to a long lasting tablet. Only to take a half of this tablet. we left the beta blocker at the same dosage. I mentioned that

CT Scan
Hi All, Had my CT Scan. All went well. The Dye really does make you think you have wet yourself. Even though I took all my rings etc off, I didn't need to, only a bra if it had metal in it. Had a phone call from hospital to ask me if I would go for a Myocardial Perfusion Scan. This I have next Tuesday

Smiling at adversity through gritted teeth
Hi my fellow hearties, hope you’re all coping ok with the heat. Now that I’ve calmed down somewhat I’ll just share my week with you all. It’s been a mixed bag for sure. As I’ve previously posted, I have a moderate to severe leaky mitral valve, heart failure with an EF of 38%, and ischemic heart disease

Decision time: What was your second line treatment and did it work....(especially for platinum resistant)
I'm stage IV ovarian (but only because of initial
pleural
effusion
, so really 3C). Scan shows nodules but luckily no spread to other organs. Thanks in advance! I'm feeling like this will be a big decision. Kathy in Seattle

Chest compression pain but only at rest
Hello, I'm new here. I'm a 65 year old male, 73kg, retired nearly 3 years ago, reasonably fit and pretty active (but not an athlete), I got into cycling a couple of years ago and currently do about 100 miles a week. About 2 years ago I was sitting on my bed, I think I had just got up and I had a compression

I am a newby here, but not to ADD!
I knew I was different most of my life, but tried to hide it. Hurt my back at work, had a spinal fusion which worked very well. But i was at a conference and was given a fruit smoothie which turned into the worst food poisoning I could ever imagine. to keep it short I lost consciousness and my forehead

News and thoughts..
So fingers crossed 🤞 As for when I found out about LAM, by chance, after continuous chest infections through a CT scan, I have found about this through another thoracic CT scan after a bronchitis and
pleural
effusion
