Starting Plaquenil for the first time
I now have my
Plaquenil
tablets but I'm a bit anxious about the side effects. I have been told to take one 200mg tablet daily. I thought it may be best to take it every other day and introduce the drug gradually to give my body a chance to get used to it.

He did prescribe me
plaquenil
which I took but when over the phone I got my blood results which were all clear I decided it wasn't worth the risk and took myself off it.

Feeling Overwhelmed
I have tried
plaquenil
when first diagnosed and it made me very dizzy to the point I was falling over and nauseous where I couldn't eat. I need some advice on how to deal with it, or even just someone to relate to. I just found this website this evening and it makes me happy to know it exists.

Back into rheumy next week
Didn't react well to the
plaquenil
at all, but the rheumy suspected I wouldn't. Apparently thus is a meet with the nurse to go over what went wrong and discuss next tier of options, which has to go to a panel, so who knows how long that will take. How do people cope in the meantime?

Joints very bad this past two weeks
I doubled up on the
plaquenil
as suggested my the rheumatologist for 7 days but I still needed paracetamol and ibuprofen. I have hardly had any sleep and felt totally debilitated - I couldn't make a fist / grip / wring anything out and found it hard to get in and out of the shower etc.

Plaquenil ... ever been asked to reduce?
My rheumatologist suggested that when in a flare, I can step up my 200mcg of
plaquenil
to 400 to damp things down, so that hopefully is something can try.

Painful/swollen leg
I have WG/GPA and take
plaquenil
. I get pain in my left hip which was severe a few months ago so I went to the GP who suggested a cortisone injection but my hip was improving so I never had this done.

Sorry its been a long time.
I was taking a drug called
Plaquenil
hydroxy chloroquine. Another very toxic drug. I immediately stopped taking that at that too was poisoning my body.

Plaquenil, we're breaking up, it's not you it's me.
I've been trying to brave it out - most of the time I can't tell the difference between regular symptoms and "oh my god why didn't you call us before?" I can deal with a lot, but 48hours of diahhroea in extremely hot weather, swollen feet and ankles and feeling like I could sleep a week is just a "nope

Plaquenil and brainfog
I just started on the
plaquenil
last week, and I know the brain fog was pants before but now I'm starting to scare myself; I keep starting projects and then realising I've forgotten steps or misplaced something I was just holding, wandering aimlessly.

Does anyone have the link to the article by Professor Hughes about Plaquenil being better than generic versions of the medication?
I need to show my GP to ensure that he puts it on the prescription otherwise my pharmacist has to give me the generic one as it is cheaper. I discussed it with the rheumatologist and she said it would be fine for me to try that particular brand and stick to it - they apparently don't find people notice
