Dapagliflozin or not?
I have T2 diabetes; hypertension; polymyalgia (PMR) and have lymphoedema in my legs. My blood readings are raised artificially by having to take steroids for the PMR (4.75 years and counting). Recent Hba1 is 8.7% and I use metformin, Levermir and Novarapid as controls. My GP has recently tried to prescribe

What is wrong with me?
Been on metformin since November last year and my period was late last month and my period hasn’t arrived for this month. I’m abit concerned because I know that metformin can be used to help people with periods. Also my urine sudden started going orange when started taking metformin but drinking plenty

Dr freaking out due to High T3 & blood sugar!
Hi, just got back from gp and she says although I have no ketones in my blood I have very high blood sugar!? Finger prick test today was 16. She says she wants me on metformin and that I have to go to hospital! She wants me to stop taking T3 as well as I am on a high dose as I'm thyroid hormone resistant

Type 1 or 2???
Hi everyone. My sister was recently diagnosed with diabetes. She was put on Metformin. For the past couple of weeks, she has been having horrible nausea and not feeling very hungry. Today she went to see the nurse at her surgery and was told she could be type 1 and not type 2 as originally told.

Ovulating?
Hi all I have pcos and been on metformin to try and conceive. This week I had an internal scan around the time they expected ovulation. There was no evidence of ovulation but they could only see one of my ovaries. I now have to have a blood test a week before my period for progesterone levels. Will

PCOS or eptopic pregnancy? ☹️
I’ve had PCOS for 5 years, been ttc for 4 years and been on Metformin for the past 4 months. My periods have been regular but I have just had a really heavy bleed, a week early. I’m worried that it might be an eptopic pregnancy and don’t know what to do? Could just be PCOS and I’m being dramatic. It

Maybe endometriosis? Prostap recommended.
Hello everyone :) I just joined this group and I am hoping to get some advice, whether medical or experiences people have had, etc. A lot of background, but may help: 10+ years ago, at an estimate, diagnosed with PCOS. When puberty started and I began to get PCOS symptoms it was ultimately dismissed

Sick of gynaecologists making me feel dumb! Metformin debate again!!!
Hi! So I had a follow up app today to discuss after my Hycosy test in December. However, he was very rude and made me feel so small! Last time I saw him he prescribed metformin and then (notherestone) to bring on a period to book hycosy test. I got the meds but after having blood work come back fine

should I go back to the doctors or should I suffer?!
back in November when I first joined HealthUnlocked I was diagnosed with diabetes. now that I have seen the consultant I'm still confused as to what type I have got and have been told to continue what I'm doing even though I explained how the tablets side affects are affecting me. I now have to wait

Metformin
Has anyone been prescribed Metformin to treat advanced prostate cancer? I just met with a new Oncologist and they were surprised that my last Oncologist did not recommend it. It’s typically used by folks with diabetes but has been shown to slow prostate cancer growth.
