Picolax

Anyway I am booked for a sigmoidoscopy in October and will be given Picolax just wondering how others were with it as gastro has said it's very mild but I have never had it before and getting very nervous about it plus nervous about the sigmoidoscopy as first time and I'm not having sedation either so

I have been given Picolax. I am concerned about the prep as my friend told me you don't have time to get up the stairs to the toilet, and I should stay upstairs after taking the prep solution; is this correct?

I decided picolax is my last resort I only took one sachet and felt a lot of water coming out after fifteen minutes o been going to the toilet but only watery liquid is coming out. I have been taking a lot of movicol so idk if that’s the reason.

I believe my bowel prep is going to be Picolax any tips on getting it down? I get bad reflux and nausea so praying it’s not going to make me worse. Does anyone know if you can still take gavison while doing the prep?

(Picolax) After the first one I was incontinent for 4 days. Still recovering from the second, the Dr said to eat as normal, so I did my whole fibre diet (re pre diabetes ) After a incontinent first day, blurred vision second day, followed by a white stool.

as I've only just 50, my oncologist has offered me an op, so very grateful but it's been so traumatic waiting for it, I appreciate the NHS are overworked and underpaid but I was given early july, then postponed another week, to with possible stoma being required I had to take picolax to clear bowels

I’m currently doing a picolax disimpaction with my child. X ray showed stool in the ascending colon. On day 2 of picolax. How do you know if you’ve fully disimpacted? Is it similar to movicol where you get to rusty tea stage?

She held a poo for 9 days and she finally let one go on the potty last night (after a lot of screaming and bouncing on the potty) I feel like the picolax may be getting her going, but obviously we still have a big problem here.

I'm being prescribed Picolax which I've been told is a 'nice one' to have, if there is a nice one! Could anyone please share their experiences of Picolax bowel prep? How long were you on the toilet for? Does it hurt (I usually have pain when number 2-ing anyway)?

Hello so I was given picolax laxative to flush my system because I was so constipated but it hasn’t really be working just took my second sachet about three hours ago and some small watery solution has been coming out a bit but no actual stool.

The consultant has prescribed Picolax & Senna in combination for 24 hours (on a non school day) to clear her out. Does anyone have any experience of this mediation for their child?

The doc recommended "Picolax" plus some Movicol (softener). But I also purchased some softener and Dulcolax tablets from chemist to start things moving. By Friday, I had still not received the Picolax from hospital so i had to call them.

Does anyone know what sort of dietary changes I need to do before taking Picolax for bowel resection surgery? I've just been given the medicine with instructions on when to take it.

Having signioscopy on Saturday am Told getting light Iv sedation due to my nervous and anxiety am Given diazapsn all week 2mg but hasn’t helped me settle previous signioscopy was very painful And now scared for thid one does Iv sedation work and picolax to be taken at five and ten but can I take it earlier
