So where do I begin after a week of being very sick and on pain medicine I have found myself bound up to the high heavens…. Nothing I take works dulcolax miralax and movicol. I decided picolax is my last resort I only took one sachet and felt a lot of water coming out after fifteen minutes o been going to the toilet but only watery liquid is coming out. I have been taking a lot of movicol so idk if that’s the reason. Anyone know if I could still be impacted or if it’s just gone into water? I don’t have back pain anymore

picolax with impacted stool
With fecal impaction you can get D flow past which still leaves the impacted stool remaining. Suppositories would likely be the answer. I have not had to use mine but I have them at hand incase they are needed. Generally if you miss a BM for the day it is time to take action with any laxative or food that will induce bowel movement for you.
That sounds a lot like "overflow diarrhea", when liquid stool from higher up by-passes the impacted stool. That's very common. If you feel the impacted stool is pretty low down, you could try an enema? Or as DC39 said, a suppository?
Probably being able to shift something has done some good and it's good that your back pain feels better now.
Foods that can help you "go" more naturally are apples, carrots, brown rice, green veggies, beetroot. Those foods might help in the long run to regulate bowel movements...I don't know.
When I have had that problem for up to a week! In the end I took advice from a colleague with similar condition. GP had prescribed Laxido and taken doses did just what you describe. So I took two sachets and it did the trick.
I do a shower enema using warm water if I feel bunged up. Find it works every time.
How do all you people do enemas at home??
You say you have been duck for a week? Is that vomiting? and did you have regular bowels before being sick ? also have you eaten anything? It could be that your bowel is empty if you haven’t eaten and also been sick for a week and normally have regular bowels. If not then it could be impacted and I would advice seeing a doctor asap to get checked out
Hello I have taken Picolax on several occasions for a Colonoscopy and it always comes out as diarrhoea every time for me. It is powerful stuff and it is intended to clear you out completely before a Colonoscopy. Hope this helps you. Take plenty of fibre for constipation. I also take Linseed golden which has helped me enormously. Ask your doctor or clinician if it would help you, Good Luck.
Laxido. It adds liquid to the stool which softens it. Follow packet instructions for an impact.
Good for impaction which I have used in the past are micro enemas which you can buy over the counter at any pharmacist they are easy to use and very cheap to buy, hope you manage to resolve things soon
