ARDS
On December 25 my mama oxygen dropped low. She was took to the hospital and diagnosed with the flu. The next day her oxygen dropped low, and they had to put her on a ventilator. She was then diagnosed with the flu, ARDS and sepsis. She got stable enough for the Trachea, but yesterday her kidneys shut

Deep cough
My sister has been going for dialysis for 9-10 years. She has also been hospitalized for chest infections etc. She has a very bad cough and tends to cough after meals and drinking. Does anyone know of treatments that could help the coughing and maybe the swallowing -dysphagia that might be occurring.

Dialysis update
Hello all! I'm excited to say that I'm an official Perotineal Dialysis patient and my chest catheter was removed yesterday! My levels have stablized besides my potassium, which is on the lower side (nothing a banana can't fix). I was also told by my coordinator that I can officially be listed! I'm really

How do I help my mum become more responsive after heart surgery?
My mum had heart surgery 3 weeks ago for a replacement mitral valve. During surgery her heart ruptured and we were told her chances of survival were slight. She is still with us - critically ill but responding slightly after having been taken of sedation. She is receiving C-PAP and on dialysis

New to dialysis
Hi, I'm new here too. Glad there's a place that I can talk to folks going through the same thing. I'm going tomorrow to have cathodor put in my neck, (due to my small veins). My fistula didn't work in my arms. How dangerous is it in my neck, ill be on dialysis until I get a kidney.

I have irritable bowel syndrome (YUCH!) and need to run to bathroom frequently and immediately. I will probably be starting dialysis in a center in the near future and wonder if anyone has had the same problem and is on dialysis. I don't know how I can sit in the recliner chair for 4 hours while needing
