Reading peoples comments on here it seems to me that the medical community in general is not much interested in kidney disease till dialysis or transplants; whereas patients would like to begin to avoid those things for as long as possible.

O- blood type
Hi, I'm Bridgette. I'm 30 years old and have been dealing with kidney failure since I was 19. Had a transplant in 2012 but rejected after a year and needed it removed. Started dialysis again in 2014 and still am currently on it. I'm O- blood type. Trying to get relisted.

Living Donor vs Cadaver
I see many posts out here for living donors. Not everyone can find a living donor. I just want to tell you a story and something to think about, especially if you are on dialysis. I lost my first kidney a living kidney from my brother-in-law. I was placed on the list with a PRA of 99. They told

Good morning to you all I have just had the 2nd steroid eye implant and met a man at the hospital who was also having his too. We were talking and he said he had been diabetic for 23 years but was no longer, hadn't been for the last 5 years. Obviously I was intrigued. He said he had been very poorly

Vitamins
I have CKD3 and had been taking multi-vitamins until I realized they have ingredients I should not be taking. I'm taking dialysis vitamins now - never knew there was such a thing. No potassium, etc.

Pantothenic acid deficiency may be the cause of Parkinsons
Hey all. I was researching B5 metabolism genetic diseases as I think I have one, and realised the symptoms are a lot like Parkinsons. The diseases are PKAN, and coase also called NBIA- neuro degenerative associated brain iron accumulation -caused by broken enzymes converting B5 aka pantothenic acid into

Hi - Today 8 weeks ago I received a Donor Kidney from a good friend of mine. I suffered for 20 plus years of IGA and luckily found a Donor before going onto dialysis. So far everything is going very well, the lab reports and adjustments they are having to do as this Kidney keeps learning is working great
