I have a severe axonal lesion of the peroneal nerve in my lower left leg and foot. I am interested in gaining more info on my condition.
In November 2019 it is presumed that I had some sort of fall and lay unconscious for at least 48 hours before being discovered by family members. I have no recollection of any of this. I awoke in hospital to find that my foot felt incredibly heavy and I was immobile and bedridden. In addition I was put

Had a rough night of sleeping including some cramping and numbness in both arms. I’m a side sleeper so I might have to try something else. Might have to try my back or stomach. I’m not on dialysis but lower back cramping has been a thing, and it hasn’t hit me in a while. Also my neck is still feeling

Adviceif you
if you were in the early steps of getting a transplant, ie just referred but not heard from yet, what advice do you wish you had? I've read people have bad outcomes and others with good outcomes. Its my desire to have a transplant before dialysis.

How long before feeling the benefits of Dialysis?
My husband recently started dialysis. His GFR was in the range of 6-9. He's also anemic. He's 62 and his uncontrolled diabetes is the reason for his CKD. His A1C is in the normal range now, but the damage is done. Today will be his 8th dialysis session. So far he isn't feeling better. He's still

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback, you have changed my life. It’s great not to feel alone anymore when no one around me can really understand this ‘ non pain’ enormous pain. I’ve a question, I know that RLS is connected to kidney failure and people on dialysis are prohibited from certain foods

Be encouraged and stay healthy during your wait
Hello, I just wanted to encourage everyone to stay as healthy as possible while waiting for that big call. I was listed on 4 transplant listings in Texas. I finally received the call on April 23, 2022, from Dallas transplant center. I waited one year and two months. I managed to get transplanted before

Another bothersome result.
Hello - I have just had my latest set of test results back - my red and white blood cell count are below range - does this mean I am anaemic. My other results are stable and a few are falling. My Gfr is still 18.5. The one that really worries me is the urea level - that has risen again. In the uk the

There is fun to be had and there's always room for change
Hi guys, first of all, I'd just like to say what a great site this is, and thank you for allowing me to be part of your community. I've been a renal patient at St James' Leeds for longer than I care to remember (43yrs!) *Groan* In that time I've met the great and the good, been to hell and back, but

Finally got the Diagnosis!
Hello everyone. I am around here for 2 months now. I must say, it has been a horrible 2 months. Lots of nightmares, unnecessary operations... But today here I am again, writing to you from Copenhagen. I actually moved despite every negative development regarding my disease. I would like to start with

Dialysis Alarm
I am having dialysis at home. I am deaf and do not hear the alarm when the machine malfunctions so wake up in the morning with dialysis not completed. Does anyone know if there is some sort of vibrating alarm that could be connected to the machine,

Time for Dialysis?
My current kidney function is at 17% and I recently got added to a transplant list. My nephrologist is telling me that it's up to me when I start dialysis. I'm trying to figure out when is the right time to start. I definitely feel fatigued most of the time, but I just push through it. Some days it hits

LOSING HAIR.....AGAIN
A few months after being diagnosed with CKD, I noticed my hair was falling out (as well as becoming more straight, instead of curly/wavy as it had been). My Neph said it was typical and that hormones in the kidney determine texture (i.e. straight, curly, etc.). I talked to the Neph about taking Biotin

Hi is it normal to be switched from “acute kidney damage” to “renal failure” even when kidneys still function & lab work from clinic is good
Still urinating normal amount, nothing odd about it. Went over a week without dialysis when my chest catheter malfunctioned and had no ill side effects Labs seem to always be “good” news or at least that my numbers are within the clinic’s liking.
