Back home from hospital
Got released Thursday after dialysis and back home by 530 pm. Took forever to get the discharge paperwork, get the IV out and the supplies to change my dressing. I have several follow up appointments and new meds. I med to gain 10-15 pounds and get my strength back. For the most part my labs are good

Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate - the generic form of Pro-Stat RC.
Does anyone on Dialysis use Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate, the generic form of Pro-Stat RC? If so, how does it taste. I've tried LiquaCel and it's just nasty.

Digestive symptoms post dialysis
my husband has been on center hemodialysis for about a year and a half. None of the medical staff seem to be able to understand or help with the extreme throat/esophageal discomfort he feels for close to 24 hours following dialysis., with no appetite. I wondered if anyone else has experienced this. He

Dialysis, what are the cons?
I'm a way off from having to have dialysis but am wondering about the cons of it. I know the pros but would like to hear from dialysis patients what it's like, the cons, the diet, labs, etc. Not really sure but I have a feeling that it's not as cozy or as simple as it looks to be. Also, maybe from

And so it begins......home dialysis
This is a hard post to write. I am headed for dialysis within the next month or two. NO getting around it now. No chance for reversal or improvement at this point. It was a good fight. I have some questions to start learning about this process. I will be doing home hemodialysis. I am already did the

Down the rabbit hole I go.... the follow up to my journey
This is the follow up to my long post about what has been happening to me. A quick review. I was told after I did the whole evaluation progress in 2020-21 that I was overweight, BMI too high, and that I had an abnormal cardiac result from the nuclear test that I had done. I had a report or 6% ischemia

Kidneys on way out - dialysis experience anyone?
Dialysis
is the only option.
Peritoneal
dialysis
is out due to existing internal hernia and other issues. Does anyone has any experience with fistula and dialysis? His nephrologist is suggesting stretching out the kidneys as long as possible, and then doing permcath - and then fistula.

Second kidney transplant
Hi, My nephrologist is putting in the application for me to go back onto the transplant list. I am very lucky as I have had my first transplant for over 28 years. My GFR is running at 12. Something I wondered about is do they remove my previous transplant and put the new one in the same place? I

Transplant list..overwhelmed
After 18 long months of trying to get on the list, i got a phoncall on Thursday, telling me I was now live. I thought I would be over the moon, instead I'm feeling overwhelmed. I had an appointment with the transplant co-ordinator and Surgeon about 10 days ago. The surgeon told me I had to lose weight

Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Dialysis and kidney transplant are the only two treatments for people with kidney failure. It is also important for patients to continue managing any other health conditions they may have, including high blood pressure and/or diabetes. Peritoneal dialysis and Neck pain at night during exchanges ……any help? Asking for my mother
She has been on
peritoneal
dialysis
for about 3-4years. Her exchanges happen at night on machine (not manually). Most recently she has been dealing with pretty significant neck pain. That happens almost like clockwork at 2am. No improvement with Tylenol, pillow change, rubbing neck.

PERITONITIS SUCKS
Third night in my local hospital for a bacterial infection. Probably would not have caught it, if I hadn't decided to do a manual exchange after a rough night on the cyculor the night before and painful cramps all day. Sure enough the fluid that came out of me was cloudy. You don't see your fluid doing
