play harmonica with a good heart
Fit as a fiddle til 51 when the bad genes from Mum and Dad kicked in. They both smoked and Dad had TB & Rheumatic fever as a lad, so he was suddenly carried away by a heart attack aged 51 and she ended up with a teflon aorta ten years later. I was surprised as I was a cyclist and kept very fit, stopped

Uncomfortable after stents
My husband had a heart attack at the beginning of November and had an emergency stent fitted. He then had 2 more fitted as a planned procedure. Since then he has had a few episodes of an uncomfortable feeling in his chest, completely different to the heart attack, but which have resulted in hospital

Has anyone had a ureteric stent inserted during their laparoscopy? Why is that fitted and how long is it left in for?

Hi I’m new here. How is a restenosis of a stent repaired? My doctor placed a new stent into my faulty stent. Anyone have this experience?

Hello. My 81 year old Mum had a slight heart attack two weeks ago. I had to resuscitate her at home. She is in heart failure and all 3 coronary arteries are very narrow. We were told they would stent her however they suddenly changed their mind and are to discharge her home to die. Is this normal? She

Renogram results
I haven’t actually seen the consultants at the BSGE centre I have been referred to yet but yesterday I went for a renogram at their request. At the end of the scan the technician said the results should be sent to my consultant in 7-10 days but then also asked me if I had got a follow up appointment

Is another Bypass an option ?
I had a quadruple bypass in 2007 in my 40's. Everything was fine till 2018 when I had a heart attack and had a stent put in. Things going ok till July this year when almost overnight I couldn't walk far without getting breathless and having heartburn. Due to the current pandemic I had to wait till

Ectopics after stent procedure
My father had a heart attack last weekend and underwent a stent procedure. He had one “large” stent placed with the consultant saying there looked as if there was no damage to the heart. He has experienced heart palpitations, mostly a few ectopics, a few times since he has been home. Is this a normal

A stent for Christmas!
All set for pre-op on the 16th Dec and stent in LAD on 18th Dec...much sooner than I anticipated ,as I was told I would be put on the list and it wouldn’t happen until at least Jan/Feb! Now feeling really scared , I know I shouldn’t as it’s minor compared to most of the things other people on here have

Great news, I can stop taking Lupron
My Oncologist told me today that based on my latest PSA reading (0.01) and scan results, to hold off having my next Eligard shot next month to see what happens to my PSA level. Effectively active surveillance. It was music to my ears, he told me to go on vacation 👏👏👏👏. 12 months ago I went to the
