Unstable Angina: Hi is there any advice... - British Heart Fou...
Unstable Angina
Unstable angina is included in the term Acute Coronary Syndrome.
It is when there is a lack of blood supply to the heart (ischaemia) which causes chest pain, however the ischaemia causes bruising but not the permanent damage of a heart attack
I live with vasospastic angina which causes temporary transient narrowing of my coronary arteries due to vasospasms a type of unstable angina.
It can be very difficult to tell the lack of blood supply to the heart muscle from Acute Coronary Syndrome or a Heart attack.
However if you are having pain at rest that does not get improve after 3 separate doses of GTN spray you need to call 111.
I also suggest you contact your GP and Cardiologist if you still have chest pain following your angioplasty.
I hope you feel more at ease soon.

Sounds like the stents are bedding in. I've had 5 and they've all taken several months to settle. I'm still getting angina every day and using the gtn spray accordingly. I know it doesn't help but keep smiling, you're alive.. You get used to living with it.
