Pentasa

Have been put on Pentasa 2g daily for 3 months to try and stabilise, am 3 weeks in with little affect so far. Hoping it starts to kick in soon. It all started after a night out on the beer and a kebab, I've never been the same since. 😩

Im on Biscopyl and Pentasa suppositories for inflammation. Can anyone please recommend anything if experienced this before.

In short my daughter has IBD which is under control at the moment with Pentasa and Steroids. She is working and living abroad but is coming home for August. During the time since diagnosis (April) she has lost quite a lot of weight.

Taken Pentasa & low dose LDN, apparently need to make a change. Symptoms have been relatively minimal but stricture has worsened. Especially interested in any thoughts re. Cimza (certolizumab). Thanks!

My daughter has been taking Pentasa for a few weeks and it has been very effective. Last weekend she sat in the sun having coffee and the following day had an angry rash on her neck and forearms.

The IBD team have represcribed me Pentasa suppositories and say it’s safe in pregnancy. When you goggle seems to be some mixed evidence. Is it safer for me to take and keep the flare up at bay? Thank you

I stopped Pentasa and my kidneys improved to 20%. They have slowly deteriorated and I’m back to 9% again. I’m now starting Peritoneal Dialysis as I feel so awful.

I tried Betnesol ....no use Mesalazine..Pentasa .no use sure, Psyllium and dried plums soften stool which I take as sucralfate constipates. I have been testing with Sucralfate enema since 4 months... It reduced my stool blood symptoms by 80 %. All blood tests ok....

For the last 15 years I have managed my symptoms well with Pentasa. Prior to this I was on Azathoprine but had to stop taking it due to been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma which had spread to my lymph nodes in 2007.

on any medication for this In November 2021 started having gastro problems biopsies were taken and they can't differentiate what is causing the problems despite increasingly severe inflammation was put on 4800mg of octasa per day for 90 days - this only dampened the symptoms down so was changed to pentasa

9 days into taking Pentasa (alongside budesonide 3mg) in an attempt to stop taking budesonide and I experienced side effects of the pentasa. Feeling sick, no appetite, bloating, burping, chills/hot sweats and the worst diarrhoea.

Is there anyone who has had this happen to them or should I go back on to pentasa ?.

Been taking Pentasa since August and have had resurgance of my Thyroid problems. Gastroman says no link! Any other Hashi sufferers had difficulties?
