Help finding cardiologist - Bradycardia - West Herts NHS Trust (Will travel for good private Consultant)
Long story short..finally got GP to look at low bp (been low for 20 years but..) I asked for a different GP after being told time and time again 'some people have low heart rate!!). I've know somethings been wrong over past 18months. Electrocardiogram showed 'slow heart' and bp drop lying to to standing

Various studies have shown an association between alcohol use and atrial fibrillation. A study published in The New England Journal of Medicine in 2020 found that abstinence from alcohol reduced arrhythmia recurrences in regular drinkers with atrial fibrillation. CLL and heart failure
I am a 78 year old female. I was diagnosed with CLL in 2012, was on w&w until 2015, then had 4 rounds of chemotherapy. I have been on Imbruvica since 2020. Recently I had a ECT at my yearly physical and it was abnormal. The ECT I had in 2019 was normal. I had a heart ultrasound which shows that I have

Nicotine patches vs gum.
if you’re not aware, I’ve been experimenting with the nicotine patch. I found that it’s too much. I wonder if that why the trial failed. I found a couple pieces of gum, 3-4 a day as needed better. I will soon be off meds. They never really worked that good anyway. Nicotine works just as good if not

Did your ectopics die out after your ablation?
So, shortening a long story, AFib from age 40, successful ablation (PVI + flutter + mitral line) at age 48, 15 good years then an aortic dissection at age 63, the long OHS surgery for which put me back in Fib. Sinus for 5-1/2 years on Amiodarone but it was slowly weakening me, plus bad ectos. After

DC Cardioversion - Yes or No
For the last 18 months, my AF seems to have got worse, and I have suffered badly with a shortage of breath. I have had 2 lung function tests and 2 consultations with a Respiratory Consultant who has told me that my lungs are “normal”. I am on a very long list to see an NHS Cardiologist, and therefore

Shout out to my local hospital and in particular ED team. I am posting via hospital bed in recovery. Presented to Caboolture Hospital QLD, Oz today at around midday today. PIP normally suffice to revert but after 2 days(Flec and Metropolol). I was in NSR but wasn't budging from 120 with a low blood pressure

They reduced to 12.5mg and slowly increased to 37mg. I have now been taking 50mg for three days and again now feel terrible, I'm emotional

There is hope
Hi all - I wanted to update everyone on a positive experience and to hopefully debunk some of the myths. For context I live in the Republic of Ireland and also have private medical insurance (this is very common in Ireland). 55, male and generally fit. I was having episodes of waking up, bolt upright

Cost of Eliquis (Apixaban) in the U.S.
I live in the U.S. and I have decided -- the decision can be debated elsewhere -- to take Eliquis, which is available outside the U.S. as a generic called apixaban. My Eliquis costs $314 for 30 pills. I could do a bit better pricewise at another pharmacy 50 miles away, with long, long lines. I pay
