If my peak flow has always been low what will spirometry reveal?
I have been referred for spirometry testing due to some symptoms which the cause is unclear (sinus polyp issues/acid reflux/chest tightening) However my peak flow has always been low. Even though I am only 5ft 1 for many years whenever I have had my peak flow tested in college lessons etc it has never

Sudden onset poorly controlled asthma
Hi, Sorry it’s a bit of a long story but I am feeling rather lost with what has happened. I was absolutely fine until November maybe odd tight chest and shortness of breath but this could have been anxiety. I am now on GINA step 4 and still poorly controlled. I am waiting to see the specialist, the

Pseudo/Reactive? Really subjective hypoglycaemia!
Hi I would like to hear from anyone who has this condition or similar, especially if they have found a way around it? Background Type 2 diabetic of about 20 years, currently 61yrs. High blood pressure, and sleep apnoea, both treated. When diagnosed I was about 130Kg, lost 30 of that around 10 years

A refreshed journey
I am not sure if I should treat these posts like a journal blog where I just write my thoughts and feelings, or like a forum post where I'd get a response to- but I will just write. Be prepared for a lengthy post. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer back in 2012. I was just under 150 lbs and looked

Low-carb diet
Here's something that says that a low-carb diet may be helpful for IBS: https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2024/05/30/g-s1-372/ibs-treatment-diet-low-fodmap-carb I've been following one for other reasons, and it seems to be working pretty well for me. Anybody else ever given it a try?

Oximeter
I have been a bit hors de combat recently, so bought myself a little oximeter, 16 pounds from amazon. I have always found the variation in my peak flows irritating, also I do not like using the peak flow when badly out of breath. So I wondered how for me personally an oximeter worked as a measure of

Ezetemibe side affects
Hi all. Has anyone been on Ezetemibe for cholesterol? I've been on it for 3 weeks and I'm feeling dreadful. Very low mood on verge of tears all the time. My chest aches as do my shoulders and one foot. I can't take statins so they're trying me on this. My cholesterol was 6 total and it's come down to

Anyone out there try the carnivore diet.
I have been on a low carb diet since my diagnosis back in March of 2023 . Eligard and Erleada have got my PSA down from 195 down to 0.01. I have been watching a lot of YouTube video's touting the health benefits of a carnivore diet. So far the only prostate diet person posting video's on YouTube that

Low carbs
Im 2 years in on my PMR journey with a really bad flare last July. Which took me back to the beginning. After reading on here about eating a low carb diet. I got out my 800 fast keto book and started cooking from it. Where I don’t stick to 800 I do try to be no more than 1,200 calories. And no more

A few developments - anybody got similar
Don’t want to bore you all but I have had a couple of developments recently apart from having my Rituximab extended for another year. Firstly I am on statins since last Thursday, I am fit, I get out, eat a low carb/high fibre diet but my cholesterol is around 7 so it just shows you. No after effects

W3R1 - lead leg running
Oomph, this was hard. I couldn't breathe, my legs were from lead, the wind somehow was always in my fave and not the back, and it started raining at the end of the run. At least my dog was obedient and she was happy to run with me :)I googled reasons for lead leg running feeling, and I don't expect any

Pred reduction and feelings of low blood sugar
'Morning everyone! I am using DL's slow taper and have reduced to the dose which has caused flares in the past - between 5mg and 7mg. I have been on 6mg for over a week and have noticed feelings of hunger and the associated feelings of low blood sugar plus, this morning, tightness in the neck muscles

Benefits of low carb and heart-health
I know this is a controversial topic, but would like to put it out there anyway and get some views. There is a massive debate about fat vs carb and its merits on health in general. Any personal anecdotes or research that points to following a low carb diet for healthy heart health? What do cardiologists
