Medications for Parkinson's
I have seen two neurologists. The first one diagnosed me with PD about 8 months ago. As my only motor symptom is weakness in my dominant hand and some rigidity, she did not recommend medication, only exercise as it is thought to be neuroprotective. She said the medications lose effectiveness over time

A tooth with a life of it's own!
Hi, all. I wrote in several months ago about a painful tooth. My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with it. He finally referred me to an endodontist, and he did a root canal. Found several issues. Would have been nice if that had been the end of it, but no! The pain would not go away, and I

This is perplexing - Coffee's effectiveness on Parkinson prevention
I drank a lot of coffee from my teens until diagnosis at age 48. Yet study after study appears to support the efficacy of coffee in Parkinsons prevention. https://neurosciencenews.com/caffeine-genetics-parkinsons-24920/

Slow-SPEED ‘Slowing Parinson’s early through exercise dosage’

B1 Question ( nothing comes easy )
question at the bottom I have been reading everything I could get my hands on that was about vitamin B1 over the last couple years and I tried one B1 100 mg per day for one week about a year ago. It did not help and actually it seemed to make shaking worse. Finally I purchased Daphne Bryan's

Zoloft and parkinson's
I take Zoloft (Sertraline) 100mgs daily. I have been on this medication for many years before the parkinson's diagnosis. My hand tremors are not stopping after starting 6 weeks ago C/L 25/100 (generic Sinemet) 1 pill, three times a day? My family Doc said that maybe the Zoloft is the reason for the continuity

FENCHOL (in basil spice)
Has anyone here experimented with Fenchol and had good results? The easiest way to experiment with Fenchol would probably be to cover your food in basil spice for many days and wait to see if you notice any improvements. FENCHOL was recently proven to show improvements in Alzheimer's, but I noticed a

Newly Discovered Trigger of Parkinson’s Upends Common Beliefs
Degeneration of dopaminergic neurons is widely accepted as the first event that leads to Parkinson’s. But the new study suggests that a dysfunction in the neuron’s synapses — the tiny gap across which a neuron can send an impulse to another neuron — leads to deficits in dopamine and precedes the neurodegeneration

Times change, observation improves, reality changes.
”Abstract: Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease and yet the early pathophysiological events of the condition and sequences of dysfunction remain unclear. The loss of dopaminergic neurons and reduced levels of striatal dopamine are descriptions used interchangeably

Air pollution is linked to PD
In a recent study, more than 270,000 people were followed for almost 20 years in six European countries where regular measurements of outdoor air quality take place. In the open air, the researchers looked separately at particulate matter (solid particles smaller than 2.5 micrometres, often contaminated

Pursuing Smaller, Faster Clinical Trials For Progressive Neurological Disorders
It’s easy to be pessimistic when it comes to investigating Parkinson’s disease. The condition, which causes progressive damage to brain cells over many years, has no therapy to halt its progression, with current treatments focusing only on symptom management. The challenges in Parkinson’s drug development

sulfur in dopamine agonists
I tried dopamine agonists: Pramipexole and Rotigotine. Both give me stomach problems. My neurologist says they are the lightest and that the others on the market have more side effects. It is true? I have seen the chemical formulas of these drugs: C19H25NOS and C10H17N3S both contain S (sulphur). While
