Allosteric Modulator Alleviates Parkinsonism in Primates
This work provides a demonstration that a positive allosteric modulator of metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 can alleviate the motor symptoms of PD and the motor complications induced by l‐dopa in primates. PXT002331 is the first compound of its class to enter phase IIa clinical trials. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com

Adding Lexapro to Sinemet for my Parkinson's
Hi folks, I'm willason, I'm new here as of 10/9/18, and this is my first post. I'm a male in my 50s. I joined to have a sounding board of other Parkinson's patients as I deal with managing my own PD, which was diagnosed in June of 2016. I really don't have anyone that I can talk to about these issues

Therapeutic strategies for Parkinson disease: beyond dopaminergic drugs
Existing therapeutic strategies for managing Parkinson disease (PD), which focus on addressing the loss of dopamine and dopaminergic function linked with degeneration of dopaminergic neurons, are limited by side effects and lack of long-term efficacy. In recent decades, research into PD pathophysiology

Molecule capable of halting and reverting neurodegeneration caused by Parkinson's disease identified (False Hope or a real good News? )
The small SynuClean-D molecule interrupts the formation of the alpha-synuclein amyloid fibres responsible for the onset of Parkinson's disease, and reverts the neurodegeneration caused by the disease. The study headed by UAB researchers was published in PNAS. https://www.uab.cat/web/newsroom/news-detail

Good day… I read with heartache about your 11 year battle with CBD… Is your husband able to speak…? Is his speech drastically affected? Mainly muscle relaxants, I know about chest infections and GSF 😋
My wife who has PSP gets severe pain in her jaw neck and shoulders she recently seen a dental consultant who said she needs to use a muscle relaxant alongside pain relief. She has had a lot of chest infections and has been in hospital 4 times, she's also been referred to our local hospice for daycare

I was diagnosed with PD 4 years ago then 3 years ago Polycythaemia Rubra Vera. Never know which symptoms to attribute to which condition. Also I’ve heard turmeric is good for PD but may not be good for PV. Anyone else with both?
