A few questions re. pacemakers.

Hi I had a pacemaker put in and I was under the impression that the leads are embedded in the tissue but I may be wrong. Does anyone know for sure??? Please if you only think you know don't answer this question.

Also can you do things like horse riding or would the potential pulling motion of a horse (if it was a wayward horse) pull the leads out?

I asked a cardiologist once if I could use headphones (the ear bud type) for work and he said "yes", however I am not so sure after reading the website we are referred to on this site? I think it is very hard for doctors to be put on the spot to answer questions at times, and I worry they may bluff their way through to come across as being confident because a lot of people equate confidence with competence. However I am aware there is a difference.

Also what precautions need to be taken when someone gets laser surgery too? I have been told that you cannot get laser done if you have a pacemaker in by more than one source. Note this was for a cosmetic procedure.
