Oddest thing happened
Hi Everyone Prednisone sure can be a confusing medication. Been on pred for 3&1/2 years. Now on 12 mg. for two months. Since day one, I started growing fuzzy hair all over my face and shoulders. Then I switched to Rayos and started growing a thick prickley hair on my chin and less of the fuzzy hair.

ET and Echinacea
Was at my herbalist today and he mentioned Echinacea would help and for me to take drops in water. Does anyone else take this, apparently it helps white blood cells and the immune system, therfore preventing colds, etc.

LUPUS testing and advice.
I haven’t really posted on here much, if at all, before as I only have suspicions of Lupus/Sjogrens. I saw a GP last week (for other reason) and asked about proper testing for Lupus/Sjogrens as I have been living with lots of possible symptoms for many years. I also have hypothyroidism and though not

Very negative pre op assessment for diagnostic laparoscopy
I’ve had my pre op assessment this morning and I feel terrible after it. The nurse couldn’t have rushed it through quicker, when I asked her my questions she said ‘I’ve told you all this already’. She asked how long I’ve had symptoms for and I said 8 years and explained them and she was totally dismissive

Visual disturbance after eating?
Does anyone know what causes what I think might be white floaters in my eye after eating? I have been tested for Diabetes and was negative. It’s like a white bright bubble that floats up my left eye after eating?? Any ideas what could be causing this?

remaining scrap of vision blackening
My mum just called me to tell me that the tiny scrap of outlines in the top right of her right eye, which was her only "vision" left after going blind from late diagnosed GCA has started to blacken and fade yesterday and today. We have been reducing her steroid intake from 60mg at the end of Oct to 20mg

Advice please
I wonder if anyone has had experience of a brand of T3 not suiting them. I was happily taking timoril for two years when my gp said I could start having a nhs prescription which of course I was delighted to accept the supplier is called Ascot laboratories in Watford. For some reason ever since changing

Buserelin shortage?
Hi all. I’ve been told by my clinic there’s a national shortage of buserelin sub cut so I have to do the nasal sprays. This is a nightmare for me as I have a very high pressure job with loads of meetings every day so taking the spray on time is going to be really difficult. Plus it means I’ll have to

Holiday insurance
Hi. I know this topic has been discussed before on here and that’s how I got some good tips. Thank you all. Yesterday after going through 20 quotes and comparison sites the cheapest I got was £277.00 for 2 weeks in Florida. I had a stroke and I am on Apixaban statins and perindopril and no Hospital

3rd pregnancy
So far my anxiety in this third pregnancy is so much better than my second. I had an early scan today and I saw a heartbeat. They put my dates back by a week but I don’t mind. 5 weeks to go until 12 week scan and mood is already better than my last pregnancy maybe because I know this will probably

Hallo everyone. New here. I am a 62 year old female. I have primary Sjogrens with overlap diffuse systemic sclerosis and bonus Raynauds on top. The steroids I take for lung fibrosis caused cataracts. I had my right cataract op Last Friday. During the procedure I would hear an automated voice saying

Doctors BBC One
Hi did anyone see Doctors yesterday? I did and I am fuming. The scenario was that a nurse set up a coffee morning for chronically sick patients, the inference being that many were isolated, lonely etc. I thought great initiative but then the Doctors started discussing said patients. Comments about how

Sick in the head or heart?
How do you tell if what you are feeling, the symptoms, are real or Somatoform? I have experienced panic attacks and IBS that heal like a heart attack or Stomach flu. I have had and cough and runny nose, flu ike symptoms that lasted to long to be the flu and suddenly disappeared shortly after I started

Inflammation increased by Peg?
I was diagnosed with PV 4 years ago, at age 49. For the past 2 years I was taking Pegasys. Inflammation has been present for most of that time, and six months ago, it led to a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Because of this, I am currently being weened from my Pegasys, without another plan in place

Dry etes
Has anyone had any success in treating dry eyes? Mine developed when I had a really bad inflammatory flare up of my hashimotos. I’ve tried over the counter products and those prescribed by my optician but nothing is helping. They feel very itchy, scratchy, and look red.
