The end of chemo
Hi ladies Hope everyone is doing ok. I haven't posted for ages but am still here in the background! Mam had to stop daily cyclophosphamide and fortnightly avastin in March, she was worn out. Her next scan showed it had only just been holding things steady, and the cancer had progressed, thickening

Avastin and CT scans
Hello all - I am 5 treatments through a planned 18 of maintenance Avastin. I am on it because a raised CA125 after optimal debulking led to a CT scan, which showed no further cancer but rather ascites in the abdominal cavity. I am sure my consultant said I would have a scan after 3 months, and I am eager

Ongoing Care
I finished my avastin in May after 18 treatments following 6 carbo/taxol, debunking surgery then a further 2 cycles carbo/taxol. I had a good response. Follow up is now 3 monthly with Consultant. Do you ladies have CA125 taken at each visit? I have been told that he wouldn't treat for any recurrence

Check up time
Well back for check up today, all seems okay so scan in October and get result in November. Hopefully they wont leave too much of a gap between both. Was told ten days by the registrar. Regarding the Avastin, treatment will terminate around that time also. Length of time two years will be up. The

Tier 1 or 2 ill health retirement? What a stoic bunch we are.
I am 4 years post diagnosis with one recurrence. I am really struggling with energy levels back at work despite lots of support and reduced hours. I finished chemo nearly four months ago but am still on avastin. My consultant has offered to support me to finish - I am a community occupational therapist

The Carousel Journey Again
Ladies. Posted only 5 weeks that my review was great...oh, how soon that ended. Began to have signs of similar symptoms within the past 2 weeks and it was getting worse. So went to my GP to ask for ca125 test (thinking & hoping I was being over cautious). Saw him at 1 o'clock last Monday and at 5pm was

Hi I know some of you are away at the moment but looking for some advice here. I had a ct scan in April which was stable no new disease. To my mind ct scan shows the pelvis, abdomen and bowel. So I attended gp end of May with sinus issues and just mentioned that my bum was irritated and I felt I

Hi There, Does anyone know the cost of paying for Avastin privately and if you can at all? I keep reading people in the states being on it for 2-3 years, although my mum has been told she can only be on it for 1 year and they do not give it with reoccurances - do you know why they don't give it with

Hi all, would really appreciate some advice please. My mum has stage 3c OC and has had a recurrence after 8 months. She has just had her 2nd cycle of carbo/caelyx. I was wondering whether anyone could share some success stories of this combination as we are all a bit low at the moment. Does anyone know

STAFF SHORTAGES
I had my Avastin infusion this morning in a Cork Hospital. The staff there are totally overworked. If someone is out sick or on leave, there is no trained experienced CNS to step in and do bloods and infusions, There is a replacement nurse but she is limited to blood pressure checks etc and general

Hello to Everyone This is my first post. I have Stage4 OVCA, presented with a pleural effusion April 2014. Was told inoperable. Started with Carbo/Taxol plus Avastin.
