Hi everyone, After reading all the posts regarding your exciting, and positive weekends, I thought I would add mine. Its certainly cheery to hear that some of you are managing to have fun times in between the chemo and hospital appointments. I finished my first line chemo in May and had debaulking. I

Tumour Maker - CA 135?
Hi, I had my second chemo after surgery (6th carbo/taxol in total with Avastin now included) yesterday and as my bloods were so good, the onc decided not to give me the Neulasta injection (happy days for me as I found it very hard to tolerate with the bone pain it caused). However, I need to get my

AVASTIN
Hi there, I am wondering if any of you have been on Avastin for longer than two years. I would be interested in the reason why it was stopped, ie funding or a prescribed period being completed. I have just been informed that my course is now finished. The reason being that the oncologist prefers

New to this site
Hi everyone i have only just become aware of this site even though I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer on July 13th 2014. I had very few signs that would have lead me to suspect anything seriously wrong even though I had been having numerous tests for the previous 18 months ct scans Mri etc

Check up time
Hi Ladies, I have been to my check up today with oncologist. He is stopping the Avastin because he finds that two years is now the appropriate cut off time. This gives the body a chance to recover and it is also a fall back if I need it again. He would hope that I stay stable for a while. Last scan

Avastin
I wanted to get everyones feedback around Avastin, has anyone been on Avastin for more than 1 year and are there benefits in doing this? My mum is on Avastin for 1 year, however after that it is no longer funded. We are thinking about remortgaging the house so that we can pull money out and fund it

Window defect and MD
Hi All, I have early stage MD, which currently is being treated by avastin (since lucentis is not used here in Malta) and along with MD I have a window defect (that is what I was told). Does anyone know what can be done to reduce the effect of the said window defect? Thanks.

High myopia and the macular
Hi. I'm really writing this to see if any one has a similar story to me, as I've never met anyone with eyes like mine, and there must be similar eyes out there :) I'm 37 and I've always had short sight, first glasses at 5, but I must have needed them before. My sight gets progressively more myopic

Hi, I have had these before when I went through menopause . I am on Avastin and weekly taxol and have been for several months and have had an occasional night sweat but recently I have had them every night getting up during night to change bed wet as well. Has anyone else suffered these while on treatment

Over Active Thyroid
Has anyone else been diagnosed with over active thyroid? I was told the ovarian cancer wouldn't be the cause of this ,but I'm wondering if chemo or Avastin could cause this?

Carbo Meltdown
Hi Girls. Just update you on my recent chemo round. As you know I was heading into cycle 2, 4th line, with carboplatin/gemcitabine and Avastin was to be added in shortly (again). Had a mildish reaction to carbo during cycle 1, so additional anti-histamines & anti-nausea added in for cycle 2. Well...that
