I have early stage MD, which currently is being treated by avastin (since lucentis is not used here in Malta) and along with MD I have a window defect (that is what I was told). Does anyone know what can be done to reduce the effect of the said window defect?
Thanks.

I am afraid that we have not heard of the expression 'window defect' before.
I think that you will have to ask your eye consultant what he/she means by that and explain it to you.
Just to reassure you, Avastin is still a very effective drug and is used very successfully across the world. It is just that it is not a drug which is licenced for the treatment of macular degeneration in the UK.
Best wishes

Hi fmarston, I googled eye window defect and there was a bunch of stuff that looks like it might be worth you reading so you can ask your eye dr relevant questions and gain a better understanding. From my cursory look, and knowing nothing medical, it doesnt seem to be anything sinister, just an aspect of the damage pattern.
I would be interested in the answer when you get one from your eye dr.
