Hi all, my son (14) has an outbreak of scarlet fever at his school, including a number of children in his class. It is highly contagious. I am on MTX and Plaquinil. Should I be concerned?

Measles - is there a non live vaccine option?
The title sums up the question. I have not had measles nor the vaccine during my life so are there any options, other than avoidance, at this stage? Thanks, Mike

The measles outbreak and Lupus
Hi, just a quick question. Does anyone know, or has asked their gp if we are still covered against measles if inoculated in the past, despite being on immunosuppressives and steroids?? Thanks x

Lyme disease? Interesting link.
I was trying to find out more about the excruciating facial pain I get when I do cardio, as well as thumping heart, nausea and dizziness. (This is now happening just when walking up hill too fast). I came across this, linking it to Lyme disease. I am awaiting my endo's response as to why he has

"Say No to Shingles Vaccine: Boost immunity naturally".
Yesterday, we had discussion of whether or not to take the shingles vaccine. For our hosts in the UK, just what is the shingels vaccine? I supplied some links that provided information and this is just one that popped up today. Hope it helps. www.Newsmax Health <newsmax@reply.newsmax.com - scroll

Bit worried, recuring pink cheek and headache...slapped cheek virus?
I don't know if I'm worrying completely unnecessarily, but as I can't contract my gp or midwife until monday, I thought I would see if anyone else has had similar. I feel generally ok, but woke up yesterday with one very pink cheek which was very warm to the touch, this subsided after about 3 hours but

Headaches Mostly Gone 80 days later
This is meant to be an encouraging uplifting post for anyone just getting or who is recently recovering from meningitis. I am about 80 days removed from an aseptic meningitis two week stay in the hospital. The diagnosis was partially treated bacterial meningitis. I am happy to report I have resumed
