Does IMRT cause incontinence?
My doctor seems to think that a course of 9 weeks of IMRT on my Lymph node area and prostate to treat prostate cancer is not likely to cause incontinence for me. I'm 60 and I'm not sure he is right. When I think of causing incontinence I am concerned also in the long run. If in 10 years I would have

Looks like I have a BCR, 9 years after Proton Beam Therapy in Korea
In early 2013, I had 28 doses of PBT radiation at the Korean National Cancer Centre. I most impressive facility that gave me a great outcome. PSA was negligible until 3 years back. Last year my PSA was 0.34. A year later (July 22) it came in at 0.75. The question is where do I go from here. I should

Ondansetron
Hi all, has anyone tried Ondansetron for IBSD? It is a drug for Nausea and vomiting but has been found to be helpful for people with IBSD. I tried it, but it made me very constipated and I went from taking two, to one, to half a one. But it started to cause bloating and wind pain again which I hadn't

When will they help?
I had my gallbladder removed around 2014 and later dignosed with Bile Acid Malabsorption as a result. But I still had constant pain around my liver. Then in 2020 I finally got referred to a gastroenterologist who listened and got me and ultrasound, then CT and MRI with contrast because they found

New to group. Husband with advanced bladder cancer. Missed diagnosis year ago. Chemo knocking him for loop.
I am new to this group although I have participated in a Health Unlocked group for advanced prostate cancer for many years because of my nephew. The information we found there saved his life. My 83 year old husband has recently been diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer after months of misdiagnosis

Is it OK to start ADT immediately after biopsy or need to wait until after healing?
My husband has suspicious recurrence in prostate as well as BCR mets in lymph nodes, etc. He has been wanting to start ADT soon to treat BCR mets in lymph nodes but has to wait until after biopsy to confirm the suspicious uptake in prostate. The questions are: is it ok to start ADT immediately after

DNMT1-mediated epigenetic silencing of TRAF6 promotes prostate cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis by enhancing EZH2 stability
Just published research on DNMT-1 epigenetic pathway in Prostate Cancer. Serious Question
I was advised I need thyroid replacement years back. I was active, healthy, walked 2 miles 3 x week. I was surprised , but trusted. I immediately felt like I was like someone on amphetamines. Finally after 4 3/4 yrs. I withdrew telling the MD. Most of the extreme complaints have gone or lessen. How much

Prazosin revisited
The sheer beauty of the retrospective study posted recently by Scout4answers is the vast superiority in Recurrence Free Survival for Prazosin users over a ten-year period not only against controls but against a similar drug, Tamsulosin. IMHO this means that selection bias is much less likely. Prazosin
