Prolia 1yr Update
One year ago my DEXA scan showed
Osteopenia
in the left femoral neck (T -1.1) and I started Prolia. I chose not to take Vitamin D or calcium as they were within normal range. My DEXA scan a year later showed a 3.5 % increase in bone density in my hip with a T of -0.9 and assessed as normal.

Maddening Contradictory Advice
Latest update on my still hormone sensitive lymph nodes-only but widespread metastatic cancer is the Dexa scan showing I now have
Osteopenia
(no doubt occasioned by ADT regimen and lack of Testosterone).

Alendronic Acid
I discoverd that I had
osteopenia
which went on to become osteoporosis . I carried on with the Alendronic acid when I first developed PMR . I was able to have another scan and it was no better. I have to admit that when Pmr 'disappeared' do did my taking of Alendronic acid.

Immunoglobin Blood Test.
These were to rule in or out the cause of
Osteopenia
- low bone density mass.I now have Covid. Nurse rang me with blood test results yesterday and said they were normal apart from the Immunoglobin one which should be at 2 but was 2.7.

Prolia: Prerequisites
Lam suggests I consult my local Michigan PCP regarding starting Prolia as my last bone density test 6 months ago was T= -2.4 (
Osteopenia
but VERY close to Osteoporosis). My insurance is BCBSM Medicare Advantage PPO. I see my doctor on Wednesday. Any hints on costs?

Been on the IC since April 24h….bit fed up now!
Anyway, I carried on running and developed bilateral lateral pain as well, so went to see a physio who thought I might have 5th metatarsal stress fractures….as I have
osteopenia
! Fortunately I didn’t.

Should I continue taking my vits if my blood test results keep increasing?
I have
osteopenia
, I'm 37 (have been diagnosed a few years earlier). I am doing weight-bearing and body-weight exercises 3-4 times a week, my diet has been fixed drastically throughout the past year. So now not sure whether to stop using vitamins at all.

Worried and confused
Report says there is "severe osteoporosis at L1 and L2, moderate osteoporosis at L3 and severe
osteopenia
at L4, lower levels are felt to be falsely improved, findings suggest severe osteoporosis lumbar spine, mild osteoporosis both hips".

ADT and bone loss lost opportunity !?
And yes I had lumber osteoporosis and
osteopenia
in my hip and neck of femur. With all the other stress and issues and struggle to get the right oncologist, I didn’t see a rheumatologist and start the oral biphosphonate until couple of weeks after radiotherapy.

Help interpreting summary of DEXA scan, please?
I was just told I had
osteopenia
. I’m 65. For several months I wasn’t even advised what to do about it until I spoke again to my regular doc, who prescribed soluble ADCAL D3. But somehow I never got the detailed results from her.

Prolia Injections?
After 6 years on pred (currently on 10 mgs) my bones have objected (I had
osteopenia
even before I started). I am now officially osteoporic. My doctor wants me to start Prolia injections after a visit to the dentist.

Low blood pressure and palpitations. Thyroid, low ferritin, something else?
I also have
osteopenia
(DEXA last April) and probably a gluten intolerance. Not tested as I pretty much avoid gluten but my Father is Coeliac.

Seeing endo unexpectedly and have private blood test on the way!!!
I noticed in replies to others that TSH is low if you take T3 but as they're blaming low TSH for my
osteopenia
would this not still be the case? I don't know how to counteract their statements. Feeling anxious already as I find appointments difficult 🥴

Struggling to accept/deal with pain and decreased range of movement
Hi, I was encouraged by medics to wean off and stop prednisone after 2 yrs on them due to
osteopenia
and inflammatory markers "normal". I did so in July 23 I am trying to continue to work as a nurse and occasionally take one dose of 400 mg ibuprofen a day/night which works well.
