right knee replacement
Osteopenia
cleared up after 21 months with only bicalutamide, T rose to 226, and PSA has stayed less than 0.1. I finally have a new knee! It‘s painful but every night is a bit better than the night before and I can walk our property for the first time in years.

dexa scan
however: the results were: Femoral neck t-score -1.5 Lumbar spine -1.9 Hip -1.5 So from what I’ve deduced from Dr Google, these results are ok and still stand at
osteopenia
. I’ll try and do more bone loading exercises and see if that builds the density.

osteoporosis
I was told I had
osteopenia
whist workng as nurse in the xray department ( a dexa scan machine was new so all females were able to have a scan to give experience to the radiographers who had been trained in osteoporosis and scanning, I must admit I did have several scans under this 'scheme' and eventually

Med for Osteoporosis
Diagnosed with
osteopenia
in 2019--progressed to osteoporosis in my spine in 2023 --my gp had me try Fosomax in 2019 but after a few months experienced trouble swallowing so went off of it. Tried to just use vitamins but did not do it correctly or as I should have.

can anyone help me work out my Frax score?
My t score showed
osteopenia
for the average of the left hip. t-score or 2.8 for the femoral part of the hip and 2.7 for the lumbar spine. I am kind of in shock. Been having some chronic back and hip pain, but MRI showed nothing significant.

PMR and Osteopenia
Evening everyone, Last time I posted I think I was struggling with Alendronic Acid weekly. Saw the rheumy again and now I am to have an annual infusion of zoledronic acid to keep the osteoporosis at bay. Diagnosed with PMR 2016 and then on 20mg pred, now on 2-3mg a day dependent on how I'm feeling

Can anyone explain why osteoporosis meds seem to work for a period of time and then need to be changed to another osteoporosis meds
My mom did not develop osteoporosis until after taking osteoporosis meds (back in her days, if you had
osteopenia
, they put you on meds, which looking back, seems to have been a bad decision for my mom.

My PMR has apparently "morphed"
Of course, all these years on pred have had consequences for my body (
osteopenia
and steroid induced cataracts). While most symptoms are resolved by increasing pred after a flare, one thing which has been constant is a very stiff and achy neck.

In 2018 it was just my lower back that fell under
osteopenia
, but now i believe it is in my neck, and lower back. Also, I had a hip replacement in Novemebr 2022, and I always have leg pain.

Does Afib have a connection with Hyperparathyroidism
I was diognosed with Hyperparathyroidism as the calcium was high and the PTH high as well as a dexa scan showing
osteopenia
, following this I had to have a couple of stents then recently diognosed with Heart failure. HFpEF.

dilemma
my recent Dexa reveals I have moved from high risk osteoporosis to medium risk, just a shade under
osteopenia
. In the past I used Tymlos for 8 months and had to quit because of extreme fatigue. I did reduce down to 4 clicks and experienced a minor change in fatigue.

Different DXA and REMS Results
The echo light REMS scan gave me a bone density of -0.9 for my spine (normal) and -1.9 (
osteopenia
) for my femur. It also showed my bone fragility as good. Has anyone else had such different readings between DXA and REMS?

Osteoporosis
Had bone density scan around 2017 which showed some osteoporosis and some
osteopenia
(record has been lost due to GP/house move). I was offered an Infusion of AA which I had in 2017/2018. Slowly reduced pred and stopped in September 2019.

Zoledronate infusions yearly for 3 years
Now moved from
osteopenia
to osteoporosis - 2.4 on femur. I get a lot of stomach and digestion problems so was told infusion bypasses stomach as it goes straight into blood stream. Spoke to nurse at R.O.S. Who said the side effects only last for about a week..?..??

advice help please…doctor say, wear and tear it’s your thyroid your old and think…go away and die quietly.
She’s riddled with osteoporosis osteoarthritis
osteopenia
disc bulge. Re occurrence of flu type symptoms like viral infections which previous says oh well it’s just the thyroid causing it. She has a low immune system nothing we can do! This has been going on for years without no real action.

I have
osteopenia
but VERY close to osteoporosis (t=-2.4 last December and started Orgovyx at that time). Surprisingly, BCBS did approve the drug. I'll be scheduling it soon.

Confused About Prolia
OK, my bone density reading in December was -2.4 (
osteopenia
but VERY close to osteoporosis). Given that I was just on HT (Orgovyx) Dr Lam suggested I get on Prolia, which I did a month ago.
