Can anyone recommend good brands, doses and forms (that is, tablets, or capsules, or drops) of Milk Thistle? Also is it best to ...
take it constantly or to have breaks? I was taking it for years, as a precaution, after I'd first been scared about my PBC (mis?)-diagnosis, then I stopped a few months ago when a friend said you are not supposed to take it for too long. She's since admitted that she just said that because her homeopath

Thoughts on pacing
So yesterday I completed the dreaded W5R3, and the big step up to 20 minutes non-stop got me thinking about the idea of pacing myself. It may sound silly now, but before I started on c25k, I had never really thought about pacing myself when exercising. I sort of thought the idea was you just ran as

Does taking Gonal-F (drug that can be used during IUI and IVF treatments) aggravate endometriosis?
After 2 x laparoscopies (2nd was 7 months ago), I'm now on my 5th IUI and have swopped from Clomid to Gonal-F. AF's due any day now and the cramps are horrendous - as bad as they were pre-laparoscopy so I'm wondering if it's due to the drugs?

Last run of 2013 - emotional! Thank you everyone :)
Well that was a good 'un to go out on! I imagine I will be joined by some enthusiastic New Years Resolution-ers next run, and I will cheer them on all the way :D 2013 has been one hell of a year, I've fallen off the running wagon with PF and jumped back on, graduated and now do 5k 3 times a week. I

Sunday Run - inspired by your posts!
Hi! I have not posted on here for quite a while about any runs; have been plodding away except for two and a bit weeks after my birthday when the dreaded cold/flu bug hit. I did a 5.7km outside last Tuesday; but have been on 5 early shifts with less than 4 hours sleep a night (I hate earlies because

Milk Thistle?
Has anyone taken Milk Thistle while on Carbimazole? I understand that it can be a bit harsh on your liver and I do enjoy the odd glass of wine of an evening, but would like to protect it as much as I can. Any experiences of vits and supplements please. Thanks Jules x

I've got a very embarrassing problem, Bad breath. I know that bronchiectasis can cause this. I am very particular with my dental hygiene, my
dentist has told me there is no problem with my teeth. I have tried every toothpaste and mouthwash on the market. I also use a tongue scrapper, dental floss, electric toothbrush and follow all the guide lines to cleaning teeth, also tried chewing parsley, stuff and tablets from the health shop, all to

If only I hadn't walked!
I had a two day rest between runs and headed out this morn with purpose. IannodaTruffe advised me to stop looking at my phone whilst running (good tip that) and Old Ned (for I think it was he?) advised me to switch on Lady Endomondo's voice prompts on so I could hear when I reached the end of my route

Does rosacea affect the scalp too?
I have had a red flush across my face for some time but it is a flat rash (was investigated for Lupus after a positive ANA but all other tests came back negative). Now though I have had angry red bumps (they have no head so not spots as such) come up on my face and head. They come up and then flatten

Graduation........ I've only gone and done it! :-)
As many of you will know from my post last night, I have found this week extremely tough following the sudden death of our dog last weekend, but somehow I found the strength to keep going and finally managed my graduation run this morning. I didn't think I would feel elated having gone through so

Went out today and I am very pleased to say I kept running, I never gave up, Started off well, good pace, good form. started to struggle on my second lap of the field, the third, I was ready to give up, drenched, and had drunk my whole bottle of water, legs ached, couldn't breathe, couldn't lift

Juneathon fail
I'll own up now - I shouldn't have signed up for this. I'm worn out and have struggled to fit things in around work, family etc I'm concentrating on my half-marathon on 7th July and that means being kind to my achilles tendons, as both have been troublesome for a long time. I think I'm benefiting

Dry skin question
Do emollient creams like Cetraben, which are made from a mixture of white soft paraffin and liquid paraffin, cause long term damage to your skin and eventually make the skin even drier please? If so does anyone recommend a natural emollient for very dry sensitive skin (fragrance and perfume free).

Can sunshine provoke a Lupus flare?
I more and more suspect I may have seronegative Lupus (do have APS and SS). Was out in the sun all day on Sunday, without sunscreen (duh), got very tired and very burned. Have been feeling crap ever since. Also developed bright red round blotchy blobs on both cheeks and over nose. And I've been doing
