Are Food supplements worth a try?
Hi all, I have recently been hospitalised with an endo flare requiring a significant amount of opioids to help with the pain. i have read online that omega 3, turmeric and ginger root supplements are good at acting as an anti-inflammatory and are helpful in relieving long term chronic pain. I

Pain - where my pain comes from! (2)
I used to visit, my GP for annual bloods, the results = nothing unusual all normal every single year on year. My visits to the GP were mainly due to the constant pain, nightmares and fatigue, we talked in the 15 minute allocated slot to determine my future! I have Pain surely I need pain killers? I

Jelbea in reply to dickJones and anyone on buprenorphine patches or tablets.
I have not posted for some time as I have changed from Butec patches to Temgesic sublingual tablets and have been having some issues. Firstly, as dickJones has found out the patches definitely do not last seven days for most people. When I started the patches (15 mcg) I was getting reasonably good

dental treatment and antibiotic cover
hi everyone just a quick update following my post about dental cover for those with prosthetic heart valves. As you know, my dentist was very reluctant to offer antibiotic cover even though I’m considered high risk for endocarditis (mech heart valve and previous endocarditis). I’ve had a bit of a battle

Pregabalin, Dosage thoughts?
Hi, I restarted Pregabalin in Feb. this year partly I have to say out of desperation, there being nothing else prescribeable available to me, GP had allowed me to trial Codeine but it took 90mg to suppress symptoms and there was no way that was going to be viable long term, more potent Opioids were

CBD oil for pain?
hi folks. Anyone use CBD oil for pain? Now that I cannot take NSAIDs I have a huge rise in anti inflamm pain. I have tried codeine with no impact. Also not wanting opioids. Not sure what to try next but someone mentioned CBD Oil. Any help would be hugely appreciated. My go to meds are paracetamol

Having dental treatment whilst on warfarin
I am 78, male and take warfarin for atrial fibrillation. I have to have a wisdom tooth extracted and a gum deep clean because of gum disease. I will need to take warfarin as usual but am worried about the possibility of heavy and uncontrollable bleeding and also because the NHS dentist wants to perform

Dental treatment. Tooth extraction.
I (82years old) have mastocytosis. One of my teeth has to be extracted. Has anybody had any experience with local anaesthetics and the necessary medication for the procedure? Is there a dentist in London who would treat under the circumstances, private or NHS. I am quite desperate and very grateful for

Advice moving forward:
I currently take 300mg pregabalin but it only is about 60% effective, some nights it’s not effective at all, I also take cocodamol and sometimes clonazepam. I had already been on roprinirole and managed to wean myself off. I need some advice moving forward… I saw Professor Walker about a year ago -

Pregabalin not working so GP has put me on Duloxetine. I am confused!
After some months of endless nights of 2 hours sleep, (after a lifetime of RLS I'm now 74) on an increasing dose of Pregabalin to 450mgs, then back to 300mgs, plus oral iron to raise my ferritin (27), I finally phoned my GP and told him the sorry tale including how I fell asleep standing up one night

For the experts, or anyone who has done a sleep study: what is the benefit of actually doing one, if you are far down the RLS road?
Some of you know a bit about my journey....do you think there is any point of doing a sleep study at this juncture? After long term DA use, many doctors, an iron infusion, opioids, etc.? Do they actually have you lie there all night without any meds or help? Would I learn anything? It is hard to imagine

Best Treatment if you’re already on Opioids
Hi, I’ve just arrived. I have only recently begun suffering from RLS. I’m on a ton of very strong pain killers for Fibromyalgia, CRPS, a bowel disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Acute Anxiety & Clinical Depression & more. So my pain meds already include: Diazepam, Oxycodon, Fentanyl Patches, Zapain

RLS Meds & Post-Surgical complications
I had a knee replacement a year ago. It went well, except my doctor took me off my Tramadol, 100 mg/3 per day, while keeping me on my 100 mg, 3x/day Pregabalin—it works well together. Instead he had me on 5 mg of Oxycodone every 4 hours. He thought the Oxycodone would an effective substitute for the

Antibiotic cover for dental treatment
Hi. I’m at high risk of endocarditis as I’ve had it before and have a mechanical valve. I’ve got a couple of dental appointments coming up and the dentist refuses to prescribe antibiotic cover, citing NICE guidelines. M gp is reluctant to prescribe too on the basis of the same guidelines. I don’t have
