Anyone use CBD oil for pain? Now that I cannot take NSAIDs I have a huge rise in anti inflamm pain. I have tried codeine with no impact. Also not wanting opioids.
Not sure what to try next but someone mentioned CBD Oil.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
My go to meds are paracetamol which help but when bad nothing touches it like NSAIDs
hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

Hi That’s really interesting - I’ve always wondered about cbd oil! Where do you rub for anxiety and also presume where you get pain just rub it directly where your pain is?
I’ve wondered for a while about trying this? Thank you
Thank you - I’ve seen gummies through a site I use for probiotic and apple cider vinegar gummies - these alone have helped my indegestion loads and don’t need PPIs anymore - I will have a word with my consultant later this week but I honestly thought that CBD can cause blood thinning so never thought these were an option
Like BeckyDing I too have been wondering about CBD oil to relieve anxiety/sleep problems/pain in extremities. Is the OTC product powerful enough to be effective? I’ll be interested to hear how you find it if you try it out. I will certainly run it past my Haemotologist before taking it. Best of luck in finding something to relieve your pain!
Hi. I know your problem as I too can’t use NSAIDS anymore. I do use CBD oil (without THC) for minor pain, like achy hands, etc. I use it daily as a maintenance med. Without having THC I doubt it will help actual pain. Two other options are to eat a lower inflammatory diet-this would benefit your entire body including heart, MPN & everything else &/or try taking your paracetamol with a cup of coffee. Caffeine is considered beneficial at boosting pain relieving drugs according to my doctor. But that may not be true if you regularly consume coffee throughout the day. Also, check with your doctor. Good luck Katie
Hi LunaI use it in a massage oil I make to help with pain in my lower legs, hands and restless leg at night and it truly is a life saver. If I don’t massage it in I’m up in the night and have to wander the house to calm things down. I also vape CBD, which seems to keep me on a more even keel during the day. I have ET, fibromyalgia and arthritis and CBD seems to help me to cope with all these conditions. If I’m on a really bad day I use drops under the tongue which help but taste awful!
All I would suggest is you look at the various companies selling it and don’t go for the cheaper options - I don’t know if I can mention who I get it from here but I buy from a company that produces a high quality CBD and has loads of information on their products so you can make an informed choice on the type of CBD (for massage, taking orally etc) which would work best for you.
One thing - I do use pain meds as well but CBD use has enabled me to reduce the amount I take.
Good info- I als lately seem to be battling more general pain which you called inflammation pain. I also limit NSAIDs but realize I don’t totally understand the original premise. Is the reason your doc limits NSAIDs is because of daily aspirin? Is it type mpn specific? Are there other reasons? Thanks
My understanding is when on aspirin we cannot take NSAIDS. I would recommend checking with your haematologist . If you read the product leaflet with your aspirin it will likely say same thing.
