New US CDC Guidance for prescribing Opioids ( finally )
This is the first update since 2016 when they started abruptly stopping peoples Opioids without care factor or tapering. The new guidelines explicitly advises against abrupt discontinuation or rapid reductions of opioids. That is based on sessions learned over the last few years as well as science

New CDC Guidelines on Opioids
The CDC has released new guidelines on prescribing opioids which are much less stringent and emphasize returning the focus to the caregiver and patient deciding on the best course of treatment, This should help make it more likely your doctor will be willing to prescribe opioids when needed. https:/

Shout at the Moon
Today I visited my GP to try to get an iron infusion, following a reading of ferritin level of 58. He said it was a bit low. I reminded him of the research I had shown him last time, which states that levels should be over 100 in RLS patients. Sadly he hadn't read it, wanted to be helpful, but just

I would like to describe my experience with pregabalin and ask for help. I wrote on a recent thread that LFIT started about my starting pregabalin and taking 25mg the first night, 50 the second and 75 the third. I had horrible mood swings, depression and anxiety. I was told by Sue and LFIT that

osteoporosis pain medication
Hi. I am suffering terribly with back pain recently and I don’t get on well with pain meds however even I know I can’t function like this it’s agony. The gp offered me codeine morphine etc but I can’t touch those or ibuprofen style medicine so I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed alternatives

Query DEXA Scan.
I had a DEXA about 3 week's ago having been suffering with 2 fractured vertebrae for almost 2 year's. I have been begging for a scan since they found the fracture's on an Xray 2 year's ago. When I , eventually, had the scan the Radiographer confirmed that I have 2 wedge fracture's, the 2 vertebrae

Insomnia add CBD oil
CBD oil acts on different receptors than Opioids and THC . If you are taking low dose CBD with THC or medical marijuana and you still suffer insomnia add extra pure CBD oil. If you suffer from opioid insomnia add PURE CBD OIL always sublingual it has some many health benefits a great nights sleep

nefopam
Hi, I just wondered if anyone has been prescribed Nefopam by their GP? Just spoke to my GP and they said they are unable to prescribe it in primary care….does that mean it needs to come from a consultant to get a prescription? I’m confused as it’s not an opioid, it’s not addictive and doesn’t have

Restless legs destroyed my life.
Hi after an excruciating withdrawal from opioids and methadone I thought my life was just beginning, however I then started suffering with rls I thought it was just part of the withdrawals and would pass in time. After 18 months of bad symptoms keeping me up every night I simply wanted to end it all

Could Posterior Scleritis be linked to Baricitinib?
Good morning, I rarely post on here although read every day but am looking for input from fellow RA warriors. what’s next after teriparatide
What have people taken after finishing teriparatide? I have a potential problem now as my DEXA was due on Monday which would have given me time at least to discuss a follow on with the specialist nurse. But of course it’s been cancelled 😠 and I can’t get one till 24 October when I will have finished

Severe chronic pain from worn neck discs
My husband had a car accident approx 26 years ago, which resulted in whip lash. He started suffering from neck, shoulder, back and arm pain, and tingling in his hand and fingers about 10 year's ago. This ramped up about 4 years ago at which he began being treated at hospital by a neck and spine specialist

Insomnia from meds
Does anyone have advice for managing insomnia from when they take opioids? This has always been a challenge for me. Nothing to do with rls keeping me awake. Opioids have always made me a little bit wired. I have an appointment with the pain doc coming up and before starting one I want to make sure
