How to refuse medication
I am new to all this but was diagnosed with op after a dexa scan about a month ago. I had a fall on holiday in Portugal and fractured my ankle in 2 places. Missed my flight home but eventually made it 2 days later with leg in plaster and back to the wrong airport, this was in May. Then followed an operation

New member requiring advice
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR and have been on 15mg Prednisolone for 5 weeks together with Omeprazole, Adcal and Alendronic Acid. Any advice on do's and don'ts would be really helpful, in particular about diet as I don't want to gain weight. Incidentally I find that taking the Prednisolone

Health update
Hello I have not posted for sometime but not because I have forgotten my fellow PMR sufferers. Since I stopped my steroid treatment at the beginning of November 2018, family issues, including a bereavement have kept me very busy. Together with work (really looking forward to retirement but still 2 years

Natural Medicine Secrets - 9 part Series
I wanted to share this video program series with you. It started earlier this week and they have done a new episode each day. But today they are offering a "catch up" and all 5 episodes are available until 8pm EDT in US. You may not have time to watch all of them but please take the time to check it

The so called 'Healthy' food plate
Today I went to one of my other charities called Brain Tumour Support and today they had a dietician there. I can say that I respectfully had to disagree with some of the things she said. When she was speaking about dairy she made it sound like all calcium comes from cow's milk and that we need cow's

Bleeding prior to ovulation
Hi all I posted about this a little while ago and since have seen my consultant. Mid cycle bleeding - pretty much like a period. I need to use sanitary products to manage it. Often small clots and bright red bleeding. It happens every month without fail for a week prior to ovulation and a couple

Flax Seed
Hi everyone, I don't eat fish, bought some ground flax seed yesterday to put on my porridge., I don't eat red meat at all nor sausages and very rarely bacon. Fish makes me cringe so thought I would add flax seed to my diet for the omega 3. Thought it might help my AF. Does anyone else eat it?

Sugar and cancer, in particular Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL/SLL) – what you need to know
We've had a few questions lately about whether we should avoid sugar after a diagnosis of CLL, from members concerned about the influence of sugar in their diet on their CLL progression and of course because of the simplistic claim that sugar feeds cancer cells, so starving ourselves of sugar will starve

Zoledronic Acid infusion
So I’ve had the first infusion and boy I was so ill for 2 weeks - is this really worth it for 3 x annual infusions ? I’ve just had a thought is having these 3 infusions a permanent cure so as to speak or will my bones degenerate again over time because if they do just what is the point of having it
