Hi all... Much love to you. I've taken so much advice from you. So much love. It helps, it truly does. Brian's 2nd oral medication Xtandi stopped working. PSA from the low of .2 to now over 40. Getting a port in next week to start IV chemotherapy again. Might be a good thing as this Xtandi

Newbie. Good day to all!
Live from Austin,Texas, and some days I even feel alive. Others, not so much. New to this forum. I mostly listen. I give no advice unless it‘s asked for. Intermittent fasting is one part of my therapy, prescribed by me but some evidence out there of efficacy. Am also on Lupron and Xtandi. Had chemo five

Update and a question
Hi again team! Loving this group! Have a question- after speaking to another oncologist (will still get a more formal 2nd opinion at MD Anderson)- he suggested that my husband make sure he gets either a PMSA or an Azumin type of PET scan to properly evaluate his prostate cancer. Can anyone comment on

He first went through radical prostatectomy and since his nadir psa was 0,23 and pathological report was not good he got adjuvant

Reducing zytiga dose
Hi, my full story is in my profile, but a recap: 10 years ago, prostate removed; then radiation; then Lupron. Recent events: Became ADT resistant, mets in lymph nodes. Stayed on Lupron, added Casodex- bad reaction to Casodex. Switched to 1000mg zytiga and 10 mg prednisone- PSA dropped from 34 to .19.

Just got my last Lupron shot (hopefully) ...
or at least a nice long vacation from it. I just had my appt with my MO. My PSA is 0.2 (still have a prostate). The plan was to come off of Lupron in October which is about 18 months after the end of my RT last year. My prostate and the bony mets in my pelvis were zapped. We decided to come off 1 month

Leg Pain while on Lupron and Zynga
I was diagnosed with PC in 2011, prostatectomy, 4 rounds of radiation, and ADT. In January there were met in my hips and spine. I'm taking the ADT medications Lupron and Zynga. Over the last ten days, I have been experiencing leg pain in both legs. I take calcium, vitamin D, aspirin, turmeric, and Aleve

150mg Casodex Helps
So far 150mg seems to help. I had radiation, skipped most of Lupron and went with 150mg Casodex instead. ============================================================= A Randomised Comparison of Bicalutamide (‘Casodex’) 150 mg versus Placebo as Immediate Therapy Either Alone or as Adjuvant to Standard

What to expect after Xtandi?
Hello! It's been a while since I have posted.. fortunately, my daddy has been doing fantastic and with 2020 giving me mental whiplash every 2 seconds, I stepped away from reading about all of the current research, news, and available treatments for advanced PC for the sake of my mental health! 😜 However

Positive Guardant 360 Test-What does it mean
I was Gleason 8. Seven years after a focal city procedure my PSA began t rise and they found 3 mets on rib and pelvis. I did SBRT Lupron/Zytega and 4 rounds of Taxotere. After 21 months of of the Lupron /Zytega and .01 PSA, I went on an 18 month “vacation” from Lupron/Zytega. With my PSA rising again

Tips/advise for nightly loo trips!
Hi guys, I haven't posted in quite a while but like many others read daily and laugh and cry along with you. Quick summary my husband was diagnosed November 2018. Had chemo and 37 fractions of radiotherapy. Due to come off Lupron in November this year if PSA stays undetectable 🙏 He had N1 T3a. He

How to know where a doc stands, without first becoming a patient?
This question could be generalized, to cover any concern about what treatments a doc might be willing or unwilling to pursue with a patient for ANY condition, but I was thinking more in terms of men with PC who are wondering if certain other docs might be more flexible than their current docs with off-label

ADT (Lupron) vs COVID vs Vaccine?
There is some speculation that ADT, Lupron in my case, may provide some protection against COVID 19 because absence of testosterone may not allow certain proteins to form. Does this mean that it might also resist a vaccine and make it ineffective? I just had my first Pfizer dose and I'm only on Lupron

High-Risk Localized Prostate Cancer: Changing the Rules
An good article discussing recent results of using AR targeting drugs like apalutamide with ADT before surgery, continuing for a year after. "Not in all men, but in about 20% the tumor was dead or necrotic." This was before surgery. Worth a read. https://vitaljake.com/high-risk-localized-prostate-cancer-changing-the-rules
