Migratory inflammatory arthritis, Hydroxychloroquine and Prednisolone
After being prescribed the usual
NSAIDs
I was given hydroxychloroquine which I didn't take after reading all the side effects - I was hoping that whatever I had would subside with time. However, this hasn't happened so I finally gave in and started the HCQ at 200mg daily dose about 3 months ago.

Total knee replacement, if and when?
In June I saw a GP as improvement stopped and I was finding the
NSAIDS
were affecting my stomach. She said the waiting list was 12 months. Therefore I asked to go on the list and reduced the
NSAIDS
to 1 every other day.

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Couldn’t sleep and had to take
nsaids
/painkillers including through the night which eased it a little one side, not so much the other side. It only lasted a couple of days and now I am left with a residual dull ache, but I can carry on this morning almost as normal - housecleaning etc.

While
NSAIDs
were typically effective in reducing these AEs (thankfully!), their frequency/intensity was requiring me to take them once or twice daily.

PMR or Arthritis?
I’m not happy to take
NSAIDs
long term and I am now thinking of acupuncture and massage. I do 30 mins of stretching and yoga type exercises every morning as well as those advised by the physio, though this can be hard with the stiffness.

Knee and Thigh pain
Painkillers and
nsaids
don't do anything for it. Sitting down fine but can't put much weight on them. Have app with doctor next week but in the meantime I wondered if you have any ideas. Before this happened I could walk a mile and a half. Thank you in advance.

Doctor won't diagnose PMR
My GP has just left me on
NSAIDS
and paracetamol with physio. It's not working. How common is it to have PMR with no obvious inflammation? Also, if cortisol relieves PMR, is it fair to say that the cause of PMR is adrenal insufficiency, possibly caused by trauma or prolonged stress?

PMR vs Fibromyalgia - getting my story straight for doc's appointment.
Paracetamol doesn't touch it, though I do have some response to
NSAIDs
, but nowhere near the relief I get from pred.
Does that make sense and have I missed anything out, do you think?

Rheumatology second opinion appointment
When my husband said none of the
NSAIDs
he's tried (diclofenac, naproxen, celecoxib) or tramadol (or the mindfulness course) help with the bilateral joint pain he basically shrugged and said "Well I won't give you any of my fancy RA drugs without a diagnosis of RA" and "maybe you'll be back in 5 years

AF and Arthritis
GP has been less than helpful, I've resorted to Paracetamol and localised topical pain relief (Voltorol) because obviously
NSAIDs
are a no-no and I don't want to upset the AF.
