How to take NSAIDs, a good article
I came across a good article on endometriosis.org on how to take
NSAIDs
like ibuprofen, mefenamic acid etc. Some of you may already know that these drugs are only effective if taken before the pain starts but I was not aware of this. http://endometriosis.org/treatments/painkillers/

Does anyone take leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRAs)? - it is an asthma medication- Montelukast(Singulair), Zafirlukast(Accolate) etc?
These ladies had not respond with
NSAIDs
very much. When they had lap the surgeon found it was easier to separate their adhesion. This is prescribed for hay fever sufferer as well so I thought I could have a go. Has anyone tried? Does anybody know if NHS prescribe this? Thanks

rib dislocation/subluxation?
Also, I can only take paracetamol as codeine messes with my already distressed gut,
NSAIDs
my inflamed stomach can't handle, and tramadol makes me sick as a dog - what I really want is valium to relax the no doubt spasming muscles which are probably pulling my rib in all sorts of directions and stopping

Should patients with thyroid problems be taking NSAID's at all?
According to this research, I know it's on rats http://www.ejhistology.eg.net/Pdf2010/n2-2010/EJH330203.pdf Diclofenac, a widely used non steroidal anti inflammatory, is not good for the thyroid. I take a lot of aspirin for migraine but am now wondering, is it causing more harm than good?

I am sorry to whine, but my body is not doing well. My legs and feet hurt. My arms, elbows, hands are really aching. And I am exhausted.
I was taking an nsaid also, but I retained water and also heard that mtx and
nsaids
don't mix well, so I stopped. Is this a flare up or just the nature of RA? Help!

Does anyone know if it's OK to take codeine whilst on prednisolone?
I have heard a lot about people taking
NSAIDS
, paracetamol or aspirin but nobody as far as I can tell has mentioned codeine. I could go and ask a pharmacist but don't fancy going out in the cold tomorrow. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

PATCHES FOR PAIN MEDICATION any advice or experience please
I have had to come off NSAID's following a serious bleed, and my gp has suggested dihydrocodeine, max 360mg a day together with sachets of stuff to be taken each time to try and stop the constipation this will cause. However, I have about two feet of large bowel that is spastic and constipation is nothing

Anyone else with SLE related pelvic girdle synovitis of sacrum & hip joints responding to mycophenolate?
Over the decades,
NSAIDs
and analgesics have failed totally to reduce synovitis pain in these pelvic girdle joints. The rest of my spine (affected by spondylosis) has responded vvv well to permanent facet joint denervations, and anyway, apparently the other spinal joints are not synovial.

I don't know what to do next!
No drugs seem to work, despite being on a concoction of Dihydrocodeine, Paracetamol, and Ibuprofen (Unfortunately I'm on Prozac so I can't take stronger
NSAIDs
).

Possibly eliminate wheat from diet ?
Other factors such as exposure to
NSAIDs
like naproxen or aspirin can profoundly increase intestinal permeability in the non-celiac, rendering them susceptible to gliadin’s potential for activating secondary adaptive immune responses.

Has anyone found an alternative to NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
I am in difficulties with NSAID's I cannot live without them, the pain is too great and taking a combination of three different pain killers only takes the 'edge' off. The latest prescription resulted in internal bleeding and the gp said to take more pain killers (which don't work). Without the anti-inflammatories

New here and in tears of agony
Now it has been diagnosed as endometriosis I have much to learn but I can't find much about pain relief online other than
NSAIDS
and paracetamol (which I am dosed up with but they are not touching it). I have also been using a hot water bottle. Can you recommend anything else?
