How to take NSAIDs, a good article

I came across a good article on endometriosis.org on how to take NSAIDs like ibuprofen, mefenamic acid etc. Some of you may already know that these drugs are only effective if taken before the pain starts but I was not aware of this.

That is very interesting. The only thing is, I end up taking ibuprofen up to 2 days before my period starts ( i get precramps), and the actual day of period is STILL horrifically painful. So in theory I have started the medicine before the release of new hormones for the period day, but it doesn't seem to help.

Sorry to hear the meds don't really work. Have you tried anything 'alternative' at all? I came across Cramp Bark today again. Here's a good article on some things you could try including Cramp Bark cureendometriosis.com/tea_f...

Personally I'm trying to avoid painkillers due to the effects on my poor liver and also my digestive system.

Hope you find some relief soon. x
