PSA 6.9 six years after prostatectomy but PET/CT negative?
Weird situation here. Had a prostatectomy at Hopkins in early 2018. Organ-confined but Gleason on pathology was 4+5. For a little over two years PSA remained undetectable...and then, well, I kind of slacked off the test. Stupid and reckless on my part. After a roughly 3-year interval I recently

Radiation
I had the standard IMRT for my pca back in 2013. I was told it was a lifetime dose. Is that true with the newer forms of radiation treatment? I am faced with starting a six dose regimen of taxotere now since ADT does not seem to be working according to PSMA scans. My psa remains at 1.8 even though the

If it doesn't make you feel bad, is it working?
Background: My husband recently received his fourth docetaxel treatment. He has mets to bones and lymph nodes and has had two SBRT sessions to bone and prostate which significantly reduced both pain and node size. He has "failed" both apalutamide and abiraterone and is officially castrate resistant.

feeling blessed
Happy to share that no detectable psa score at 2 years post prostatectomy. I feel blessed since I delayed radiation which was suggested by Urologist. Going from 3 month checks to 6 month checks. Hopefully they got it all Excellent site for info signing off I hope for good. 🙏🤞

Painful Peeing/Tamsulosin post RP
Hi Everyone, It's been about 1.5 year since my RP. My psa is .4 and generally life is great-ish. The ish part of this is the following: With Tamsulosin, I pee alot during the night...4-6 x...which leaves me exhausted the next day. Without it, I get up 2x a night and generally sleep better

Surgery While on Xtandi/Eligard
I have been on Xtandi/Eligard now for about 5 months. At a psa of around 1.9 last March psma pet picked up 3 nodules in my lungs. All less than a cm. I am hormone sensitive and my current psa is undetectable. This July I had a ct scan of chest/abdomen/pelvis. The mets in the lung have decreased in size

CTC MEANING
I entered the SPLASH trial in Spet 2022 and had my first treatment in Dec 2022. I had mets from PSMA scan aZhang at Moffitt. He thought I had responded rather well to the treaments and suggested I shoudl get a CTC (curculating tumor) test and as long as that was under 5 perhaps Provenge treatment. The

I was diagnosed last year with fibro, CFS & ME.I do have osteoarthritis in my knees, hips and lower back. Pain is worse on some days more than others, but I'm struggling to differentiate fibro pain. Could you describe your fibro pain for me please?

Progression
My Oncologist says that after 4+ years of ADT, I am showing signs of castrative resistance. He also said that I am currently Low volume, low PSA Oligmatistic. Can someone translate. I had a PSMA scan a couple of weeks ago and the Radiation Oncologist said that I had a positive response. Thanks

PSA seasonality
I am mounting a theory that has to do with increased PSADT during winter vs summer time. For this reason I analyzed my old PSA readings during the 2+ years before starting Bicalutamide. I divided the year into two halfs assigning winter as the period starting on the autumnal equinox and ending on the

Use it or lose it - workout questions.
Ok so up front: Gleason 10. Matters? Dunno..castrate resistant now as aberaterone failed. Been battling this since 2020. I was PSA .12 this time last year, started going up at Nov 3-month just, and up since, which was apparent failure point for aberaterone. I had cancer jump into hip, hip muscle,

PSA doubled 3 months after chemo - normal or a concern?
I don’t see Dr Dorff until next week, but had labs drawn today. I’m prepping any questions I might have for the appointment. My PSA has more than doubled in 3 months from 0.014 to 0.039. Testosterone at time of both tests was <7. At these low levels, is that doubling in 3 months a concern? I’m

I was diagnosed with pc in 2020. Psa was 4.5 and Gleason 9 disease. MRI said no worrisome bone signalling whatever that means. Had surgery but psa persisted at 1.7. Path. Report showed regional spread but 3 lymph nones removed were clear. Eligard shot, Casodex for a month and 33 EBRT treatments

Prostatitis advice
My partner (in his mid 60s) had prostate biopsies (over 60 samples) done in summer 2023. He needed a catheter for many weeks afterwards and was in a lot of pain and passing many blood clots. Over the last year since the biopsies he's had recurrent bouts of slow and intermittent urine flow, now having

Advice for my husband, looking at treatment options
My husband's history - I don't have all the PSA numbers currently. He is 63 yrs now, under care of a urologist in a multidisciplinary group. No comorbidities other than well controlled hypertension. Nov 2021 Diagnosed via MRI, biopsy. At that time Grade 2 Gleason 3+4 on 1 core, numerous Grade 1
