My father's PSA has risen to 0.5 today. He had the prostate removal 6.5 yrs back in 2017. His gleason score was 8, PSA around 20 at the time of surgery. However post surgery, it was indicated that seminal vesicles were clean and no occurence in lymph nodes so it was indeed a localized tumor. Is there any similar case here ? Will see a urologist and find the next course of action now. Hoping it's still curable via radiation. Just wanted to share across. Let me know if any thoughts. Thanks and bless you all.
Warm Regards,
Vik

I estimate your father's PSADT to be of the order of one year. That places him in the favourable intermediate category regarding risk. IMO, PSMA PET/CT should be his next move before deciding on following treatment. Blind irradiation, that you may be offered, is a BIG NO-NO for me.
There is no better or worse, nor a choice per se. Your docs -most probably- will propose salvage RT along with some months of adjuvant ADT. I am 74 as well, 4+ years post RP, BCR and for the latest 22 months kicking sRT down the road by resorting to an anti-adrogenic adaptive treatment. You can check my bio and the thread where I document my doings: healthunlocked.com/prostate...
But, I am more than sure that you will not find a doc to agree with me.
I was similar with GS of 5+5 going into RP surgery. Get on the calendar now with a good RO and leave your Urologist behind. With his GS now at .5 I bet a PSMA PET/CT will detect.
