Been awhile here’s an update....
Hello all its been quite awhile since I’ve posted the run down as follows .... I’ve decided against a lung transplant I’m going to stay true to who I am, I’ve moved my bedroom so I no longer have to tackle stairs, my oxygen use was just when I was up and moving around now It’s pretty much 24/7, and most

Lost another friend to sickle cell two days ago. I have lost over 10 friends now and I am angry, fed up and upset. It's a feeling of helplessness. I don't know who will go next and it's just too painful. I don't know if I did the right thing having kids because I dont want them to lose me. I don't want

Steroid withdrawal symptoms
Hi, I'm new to this, came off steroids after three and a half years. I had giant cell arteritis and polymialgia have aching arms and sometimes legs very stiff, seen GP today who suggested it was probably "my age" I'm 72 - do they not accept that it could be withdrawal symptoms.? Anyone else has this

Lung Surgery
Hi, Was diagnosed after a biopsy with adenocarcinoma in my left lung. I am having the surgery on the 4th of next month. They are planning to remove the left lobe. I work in Law Enforcement and was wondering if the reduced lung capacity would effect my ability to work the same. Any thoughts. Thanks

Post Lung Surgery
In 2010 I had a bi-Lobectomy lung operation. Initially I had limited physiothrapy but apart from seeing the consultant every few months any form of rehabilitation was only available by application. I gave up and bought a indoor exercise bike, brilliant but lost motivation. Next walking the dog, still

Hello- I am 50yo woman and have been battling stage 4 nsc lung cancer for a little over a year now. I've have chemo (Carboplatin and Alimta) , then maintenance with only Alimta. The full chemo had good progress but once I went on maintenance it started to grow and the pain in my bones is coming back

Lung Surgery is on Hold
After visiting my consultant ideas told that I needed major lung surgery as my right lung is in a really bad state. This was going to be a problem as I was told years ago by the army physician that I am allergic to general anesthetic. On seeing the Surgeon I explained to him about this and I was told

Lung transplant having a celebratory drink.
Good morning everyone, I am currently trying to get on the lung transplant list in the UK. I occasionally at party’s and Birthday celebrations toast a glass or two to the person celebrating. My question is if I am successful in getting on the list and having the surgery is the rule that you don’t drink
