Is anyone finding this heat is hurting them (for those in UK)? My heart was funky last night and tonight my stomach is crunching and painful (maybe dodgy rice!). Just finding this weather quite hard on my PVCs, which are already at tens of thousands a day.
Also, for anyone who’s had a CMR, do you remember how long you waited for your results? I’m not having a good time with my hospital - everything a battle - and not booked in till next year for follow up but had CMR this week (follow-up was pre-booked. Hoping if anything is wrong, they’ll call).
Hope you’re all staying cool! 😎

I bet NE England is much cooler right now! I used to love the sun and heat but my heart is not happy. Looking forward to scan results to be reassured nothing more serious than relentless PVCs.
Hello
You might have guessed I am not coping with it at all and Monday I felt dreadful like my heart was doing strange things hard to explain it does not help my breathing either
I am dreading this heatwave they are saying is starting
Take it easy and stay as cool as you can as someone said to me it is a few days and then hopefully we will be back to normal x
I feel like the heatwave started last week. I’ve still got extra weight on me from cushings, so need to get that off to feel more comfortable! But hard when I’m struggling (heart, muscles) to exercise. Still persisting. Also, if I have a bad heart day - but don’t eat anything different, as in keeping within my correct calories - I swear I can put on three pounds in a day.
Im going to try the arms being cool thing, I’ve got fans and I’m not going out!
You are doing really well and should be proud we can only keep trying and you are doing just that
I have to be honest I am starting to panic already in this heat I am dreading the next couple of days and like you just sat with a fan on
Keep letting us know how you are x
Dear LJM15
Yes as a quick answer to your question, this is my first summer since the bypass and the fitting of the CRT-D and I must say that I feel different.
Some parts of it is good and some not so good,
The Good, seems to be that I didn’t suffer with hay fever as bad as I thought that I did and this year even though the pollen count was silly, the tightness and breathlessness was better, My chest seems to fill more and expands with deeper breaths if that makes sense and although at the moment I cannot raise my heart rate to much, my body feels like it wants to get back to some form of normal.
The Bad, very dizzy and dizzy spells that just come on with no warning even after a full med tweak { changing both strength and time taken } eyes hurt in the sun {wear darker than normal sunglasses} they have been checked and other than a slight age thing, all ok. A wobble to my walk again out of the blue that I find very disconcerting but it passes as soon as it comes, Skin rash of raised pimple type things that went after antihistamine cream { just what I need another bloody potion and lotion!} water retention definitely worse and all this I can put down to starting when the heat began rising.
Now i have listed the best I can the changes that have happened to me, but please other than a few changes it has not had { nor will I let it } have an impact on my normality that each day I am trying to re-build
The sun may not be a friend of mine at the moment, but there is no mistaking how magnificent it is looking on this great to be alive Saturday morning.
Crickey, that sounds like it’s taken a massive toll on you, you poor thing, but great you’re looking at the positives. Really hope it eases somewhat for you. Maybe the longer after the op the easier it becomes? Fingers crossed!
I do love the sun - although only get out in stages as still shielding - so will enjoy from the window and keep wrists and feet cool!
I have always been sensitive to the heat even before my heart attack. To keep cool I keep a hot water bottle filled with cold water next to the bed/chair. Whenever I feel too warm I place it on my feet and ankles. I also keep a cool pack for muscle strains in the fridge. When I’m too hot I place it on my head or the back of my neck. These I much more gentle than standing in a bowl of cold water or facing a fan pointed at me.
I used to suffer very badly with migraines from my teens to 40s and one of the cures I tried was standing in a bowl of cold water. The idea being, I think, that the blood causing pressure in the head went down to my feet to warm them up. It didn't cure the migraine but as my feet were freezing it gave me something else to focus on!!
That’s a great idea, thanks, Maisie. Sometimes, I don’t feel too hot but my heart is doing odd things. It doesn’t help I never have a break from my PVCs. 10s of thousands a day. Think that wears it out. I am sleeping with a fan in my face! 😄
