If there is something wrong with your vagus nerve it affects heart rate, irregular movement, dizziness and nausea. Doctors have told me that sometimes what I described is like a vasovagal response. So I wondered if the vagus nerve was treated maybe it will help my FND symptoms.
Has anyone had that Vagus Nerve Stimulation Treatment “VNS”?? If so I’d love to hear about it. Please share if it helped your symptoms or not.

Hi AjaStar,VNS is being used to treat some people with Vestibular Migraine so it could make sense to try it in your situation. I'm not sure how much peer reviewed literature there is, yet, but for those of us who prefer 'tech fixes' to medications it's interesting, for sure. Of course there are loads of gizmos on the market so people are self-treating, which isn't always sensible. It's certainly something to ask about at your next review
Hi the Vagus Nerve is what the brain electrode implants treat I believe in Parkinson's patients with severe movement disorders. But what is also interesting - I have brought this up with FND Hope- is that Tourette's Syndrome patients also are allowed to have these brain electrode implants on the NHS in the UK for reducing movement issues/spasms etc.
Yet, FND a completely similar `misunderstood and medically unexplained' condition as Tourette's Syndrome does not qualify?
That said, the brain electrode implant system was not that refined to guarantee any good outcomes 8 years ago and then in fact could cause brain damage - so it may still be a gamble even if FND patients were offered this surgical solution today.
