Shingles Vaccine
I have RA and am currently taking hydroxychloroquin, methotrexate and amgevita. I’m trying to work out whether at age 61 with a compromised immune system, I will qualify for the new shingrix (shingles non-live) vaccine on the NHS? Does anyone know?

Bisoprolol and arrhy
hi I am on 2.5mg daily of Bisoprolol. My question is does Bisoprolol reduce episodes of arrhythmia or does it just reduce heart rate? I have paroxysmal AF and GP has recommended increasing the dose to 5mg daily but I am reluctant as I am a runner and my resting heart rate is 45-55 BPM, sometimes lower

Just diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation
Hi I was diagnosed with A-fib a couple of weeks ago via an ECG trace on my Kardia mobile. I am now on Apixaban 5mgs twice daily and Atenelol and have been advised that an ablation is the best way forward. I only have had 3 episodes to my knowledge and so it paroxysmal but makes me feel pretty unwell

Update on shoulder surgery
I had a reasonable first night as I had no feeling due to the
nerve
block
but the second night was difficult when the
nerve
block
wore off. I was well medicated but the pain was excruciating. Currently I have some aching, stiffness and a lot of soreness and sleeping is difficult.

Anti coagulants or blood thinners?
A friend has recently been diagnosed with AF and another friend told her one of her drugs was a blood thinner. We were on a zoom call and I chipped in saying it wasn't a blood thinner it was an anti coagulant. The friend said that her husband (with AF) was on blood thinners. I started to doubt myself

Anyone get PN Nerve Block without steroid?
Hello, I have read various studies PubMed etc. that say there is little difference in pain result whether the
nerve
block
is done with steriod or without. Just lidocaine. My pain doc has me scheduled for a block with just lidocaine, and I am wondering if that is just for diagnostic purposes. ?

Another bisoprolol query
I take 2.5 mg of bisoprolol daily and in normal sinus rhythm a steady heart beat of 65 bpm. I've had three 40+ hour episodes of AF so far this year and was admitted to A & E during last episode. I had increased bisoprolol dose to 3.75 twice a day while in AF . The doctor in Same Day Emergency Care

Advice on TENS machine.
Does anyone know if you can use a TENS machine if you have a pacemaker? I am struggling with osteo-arthritis.

Shingles vaccine
Just seen the BBC news health website. Shingles vaccines being offered to over 65’s ( was 70) and, even better, to vulnerable immune suppressed people over 55 from September 2023.

Counting the days to an ablation for Focal Atrial Tachycardia

Pudendal Neuralgia Question
I've had pelvic floor physio and a
nerve
block
injection and I still have very severe chronic pudendal neuralgia pain. My review after the
nerve
block
isn't for 6 weeks so has anybody got any info out there on avenues that I might be able to explore to get rid of this awful pain.

Jaw and Shoulder Pain
Did anyone have jaw and/or shoulder pain that was eventually relieved once they found their sweetspot? I am 24 days on 100mcg T4 and 5mcg T3. I have the jaw and shoulder pain, plus still very tired. I think the brain fog is somewhat better. It is hard to sort out brain fog and fatigue at times. I can

Solifenacin
Hi everyone. Here again. After a few months of almost normal life it seems the Solifenacin has stopped working. I am only on 5mg but am reluctant to take the 10mg as the lower one causes constipation for which I have to have laxitives. On a high fibre diet but with plenty of fruit and veg. This

Different
Hello, I have different types of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and arthritis in the rest of my joints, ankles, hands and such. I also have crepitus in my right shoulder due to an accident which has also damaged my back. Yes, I know, need a new body but until medical science catches

Should I be concerned about lower resting HR on bisoprolol?
I had my first recorded (though probably 3rd in 3 years) AF incident on Sunday and have got 1.25mg of bisoprolol and 5 mg x 2 pd of apixaban. I am a runner so my resting overnight HR is usually low, say mid 40s. My heart returned to its normal rhythm on Sunday night after about 19 hours in AF. So now

Issues post shoulder surgery
Just over 4 weeks ago I had extensive arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery (using a
nerve
block
and sedation). My shoulder was so painful and wouldn’t heal by itself I reluctantly decided to go ahead with the surgery. I had the surgery as a day patient.
