Side Effects of Herceptin and Perjeta
I had 1.5 cm local, node negative breast cancer recurrence 3.3 years after my first breast cancer diagnosis. HER2+ PR+ ER+( triple positive). I opted not to have Chemo, but did have targeted therapy for the HER2+ cancer, Herceptin and Perjeta subcutaneous injections for a year. The worst constant side

Alendronic Acid and Methotrexate
I've had PMR for about two years. All symptoms vanished completely as soon as I was put on Prednisolone (15mg per day), but I had a bad experience with trying to reduce, as advised by both GPs and my rheumatologist, by large cliff-edge steps--from 15mg to 12.5mg, then 10mg, all in a very few weeks.

Help with timing of split Prednisolone dose
Hi, I have found this site amazingly helpful, thank you. I have a specific enquiry regarding the best time to take my split dose. When my rheumy advised splitting as I was getting pain from 3-4 am till about 10am on a single dose, he didn’t specify a time and I just assumed I should space them evenly

Further update on breast/nipple pain! And tapering!
Hello everyone. So much relieved that following mammogram - no abnormalities found apart from dense breast tissue - which is unsurprising following historic mammoplasty. I still have the discomfort near my right nipple - maybe a little less - which the examining Dr could not explain. But interestingly

Embarrasing skin
Hello. I’m 4 years post transplant and my deceased donor kidney continues to function well and I am so grateful! My problem is skin and bone issues. Mostly skin, as I can’t find anything or anyone who can tell me why my skin is doing what it’s doing. I know that immunosuppressants are not skin friendly

methotrexate for Life?
Currently on 20 mgs Methotrexate while also weaning my Prednisone . I am currently at 10 mgs of Pred tapering by 1 mg each month.I am wondering if I will have to be on Methotrexate for the rest of my life for my PMR. I certainly miss my wine as it was a very enjoyable end of the day ritual.. I realize

Hi, my doctor has just prescribed Prednisolone and Doxycycline for a COPD flare-up. Are both these OK as regards my RLS.

GCA and Prednisone
This group has been very helpful to me since I wrote that my husband was recently diagnosed with GCA and lost vision. He has been on a high dose of prednisone since it happened (80 mg for 2 wks, tapering to 70 this week) decreasing by 10 mg weekly) but does not seem to have a great deal of energy

GCA and Cough/Interstitial Lung Disease?
Does anyone with GCA have a dry, sometimes productive, cough? It feels like a bronchial irritation and I cough more when I speak. The cough comes and goes. I read that it is an uncommon symptom of GCA. TB has been ruled out. Chest x-rays show opacities in the base of my lungs. The cough occurs

Increased inflammation-flare?
In September last year my rheumatologist asked if while I was at Mayo Clinic I could see an endocrinologist about a possible testosterone issue. That was ok but I mentioned y long term prednisone, and getting off of them. I was put on 20mg hydrocortisone 10 in am and 10 at 3pm. Reduce to 15 after a month

groin pain and hip
well had mri in oct 2022, and showed labral tears around right hip joint, was in a lot of pain, dr prescribed t3 s, took a while but eventually subsided, many other back issues since then, but now same pain, so thinking same issues with tears, which I feel influenced by prednisone after taking for almost

"Roaming" mild pain and stiffness, unilateral, but in GCA/PMR areas, when on a low dose of Prednisone
Is this just due to the aging process or a sign of a possible flare after a taper? The non-bilateral element tends to make me think it's more about getting on in years. Also ESR and CRP are normal and have been for several months (latest results 10 days ago). Background info: I have reduced to 2.5/2
