unbearable side effects
That side effect is more like the performance of thyrotoxic
myopathy
: muscle spasms, post-exercise spasms, starting from waking up, because minor movements will trig the muscles vibrating for a long time, and I feel tired all the time, Muscle ache.

On the list for an ICD
Hi All, I was diagnosed with Heart Disease (Dilated Cardio
Myopathy
(DCM)) 16 years ago after an episode of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) which was fixed with a chemical conversion (Amiodarone) and have been stable until recently. I've been on Beta Blockers and ACE inhibitors to manage the condition.

REF: ' If you won't take methotrexate there's no point in you coming back.... '
He thought I needed to reduce pred fast, because of steroid-induced diabetes, steroid
myopathy
, etc. He said it was necessary, before Mtx, to have zolendronic acid infusion. I'd had a dexa scan in Jan - some osteopenia but no osteoporosis yet. Not too bad.

Getting nowhere... fast
My dermatologist said he thought the weakness was probably due to steroid-induced
myopathy
and my rheumatologist said that the steroids could be responsible for some of the other things so how the blazes can you separate symptoms of the disease from side-effects of steroids?

Anyone outside the USA on actemra yet? Looking for reactions to the drug here in USA and abroad. Heard anything PMRGCApro?
I want to mention the side effects which I found after the third shot which is more muscle fatigue than the steroid
myopathy
rather debilitating. Lots of muscle pain and headache. My stomach has been sensitive for many years and it is getting worse.

To PMRPro or anyone knows my crazy history feel free to pop in
This was three months ago and also have steroid
myopathy
. I am trying to keep this short because my other issues are huge. After two years and three months of GCA and high prednisone and for the three years prior PMR, I am trying not to lose faith.

Quick reduction - bad withdrawal -increased markers
All the above insisted by rheumatologist because of steroid
myopathy
. So I moved to another state for a top rheumatologist who reduced my prednisone from 30 mg to 20 mg to 15,14,13,12,11 all 2 weeks apart.

Paraneoplastic Myopathy
I noticed on my bloodwork paperwork there is an assessment category and the PMR, lymphoma and "paraneoplastic
myopathy
" is listed too. My doctor never addressed this "paraneoplastic
myopathy
" with me and I am wondering if anyone knows how this translates to PMR - if at all?

Back to square one with GCA
I was then on 30 mg with some serious steroid
myopathy
. His message was to get me off the steroids quickly because I was so sick. So from 30 I went to 20 then 15. Blood work was OK didn't have withdrawal until 12. Now withdrawal is horrendous .

Necrotising myopathy/myositis
I have been diagnosed with NM/Myositis and have over the course of a couple of months become totally dependent 24/7 and am in a wheelchair. I start IVIG treatment on 19/06. Can anyone offer advice on this illness/treatment? I am finding it difficult to cope emotionally as well as physically now.
