Thank you to everyone who responded to my last post about diet in run up to procedure, and for all the reassuring comments. I had my colonoscopy yesterday and it went well, less painful than last time, and the colitis patch found last time, in 2017, had healed. One small polyp was removed with wire loop and another larger one was retrieved and has been sent for biopsy but nurse said it didn't look suspicious so fingers crossed. Will take few weeks for result. I was nervous but the care and attention I received at Eastbourne DGH was outstanding, and nurses held my hand and calmed me down. I had 3mg of Midazopan? 50 of fentanyl and 10 buscopan.
It was bit painful at times bc I have severe diverticulosis but also bearable and as I say better than last time.
I had a little milk up to three days before, then just clear liquids, and I got top marks for bowel being clean, form said prep was excellent, so I was glad about that.
My appointment was 2.30pm and I drank first litre of Moviprep between 5.45 and 7pm. I added some Robinsons lemon and barley cordial, and had a separate bottle of lemon and barley with water. I put moviprep in an emptied 330ml bottle of water and had another bottle with the mixed cordial. I found it easier to drink/ gulp through the twist on bottle top. I finished pooing about 10pm. I managed to sleep for 6 hours woke at 5.15am. I started second lot at 7.30am, finished at 9am. I started earlier than recommended as I was scared of feeling the urge on journey to hospital. I was fine by 1pm and got a cab at 1.30pm. And as I say my bowel prep was marked as excellent, whereas last time it was adequate.
Best wishes to all and very many thanks for all your kind replies. Vx
