Low carb diets...???
I really need to find out more about this. A couple of days ago, I got my lab results back and they are clearly indicative of insulin resistance: fasting glucose 110 mg/dL (ref 70-105) and fasting insulin 18 uU/mL (ref 2.6-24.9; should be <5 according to several low carb forums I've visited). Anyway,

Labs back, would appreciate feedback!
So, I have had some labs back. I have been on Berberine 1500 mg daily (500x3) since 2015. Back then, it helped me lose 28 kilograms and have a normal BMI for the first time in years. I have since put it all back (the weight gain started after I was put on high doses of prednisolone last year - I took

Pre-diabetic - is this linked to thyroid issues?
I’m under active but on Levo with ok levels, but my fasting blood sugar levels are into the pre-diabetic range. Only just, but still from everything I have read urgent action is required even if you are close to the pre-diabetic range. Could this be thyroid related? I’m 35, BMI of 20, don’t smoke,

The benefits of Rye bread for the pre-diabetic and diabetic. 💚
Hi everyone, As there's a lot of interest in preventing diabetes reversing diabetes pre-diabetes and reducing the resistant starch of carbs. It turns out that Rye bread and dark rye bread in particular is a beneficial carb because it has a lower GI making it a slow release carb https://www.berman.co.il

Thousands of over-treated diabetes patients wind up in the ER with dangerously LOW blood sugar, study finds!!
"Those with diabetes may also develop low blood sugar as a byproduct of patients receiving medication that lowers blood sugar levels too low. 'Hypoglycemia, or low blood glucose, is one of the most common serious adverse effects of diabetes therapy, causing both immediate and long-term harm to patients

The diet that is working (for my husband that is!)
Quite a few people on the forum have taken steps to lose weight following their diagnosis of AF. My husband has had a weight problem most of our married life (BMI of 36) and we have lost count of the various diets he has tried. He read an article in The Times supplement a few months ago on prevention

Quercetin bromelain
I bought Bestvite quercetin 500mg/250 bromelain take 2, 3 × day. How long before you see results., or is their a better brand. Hoping this will help as a MAO B inhibitor. Also, my stomach feels upset a bit, does that happen to anyone. Thank you.

Burning feeling in feet
Just a quick question, do any of you suffer from 'burning' feet? Mine used to be dreadful, I'd have to sleep with my feet outside the bedcovers even on the coldest night. I realised after I'd been diagnosed and on Levo for a while that they weren't so bad so assumed the problem was hypo related. Unfortunately

Abingdon Parkrun! (Streak of 2)
So the second of 2 parkruns since re-graduating C25K. (I'd done one 2 years ago and promptly put my back out - aaaugh!) Then I re-started C25K again this year, grossly overweight. Have lost just under 3 stone since March. My times not as good as last time, so still have the PB from that first parkrun
