I am prick testing first thing in morning and after a week starting with 500 g a day (now 2 x 500 a day) my numbers still seem to be all over the place I have been very controlled with foods getting concerned as I need to get the levels stable as having dental implant in two weeks. Any advice Wouk£ be welcome

You say you are very controlled with foods. Are you on a low carb diet as I found that helped me get my diabetes into remission.

Thank you for your advice trying to find out which foods are high in carbs to avoid them. I eat one slice of toast a day and some potatoes and nuts as well as protein and salad carrots and corn

Bread is high in carbs unless you can find the one I eat Hilo which is only 5g carbs per slice, a lot of bread is about 20 g. Potatoes are high in carbs as are carrots and corn. Pasta and rice is out, as is pastry.

A typical day for me is

Breakfast 1 slice of Hilo bread toasted with cheese

No lunch

Dinner salad with tuna, ham, salmon, or omelette. In my salad I have lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, radishes, salad onions, nuts and seeds with mayo full fat yoghurt.

My dessert is a few blueberries with double cream.

All best wishes with your diabetes
