Help me out

So I recently begun trying to blood sugar diet to try and cut out unnecessary carbs and sugar from my diet. On the whole, I feel much better and more energised for it. However, I’m finding I’m feeling bloated on an evening and I can’t figure out why but it’s making me pretty uncomfortable.

Have any of you guys experienced anything similar?

I am not sure, but I think that some vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower can cause bloating, despite being excellent substitutes when cutting down on starchy carbs. From what I have read (if I remember correctly), this group of vegetables can cause bloating - something to do with your gut bacteria and fibre or fermenting. I might be wrong, but it might worth checking it on internet.

Maybe try to substitute them with spinach or other vegetables that would not make you feel bloated.

I hope you will mange to work out what the cause is. Good luck!

Hi Kerosene17

This article from NHS choices on 'Bloating' may be useful - it lists some of the vegetables that can cause bloating at the beginning:

Hope you feel better soon, and very glad to hear you're finding that you are feeling much better and more energised for the changes you have made to date.

Wishing you a good weekend.

Zest :-)

Maybe changing too many things at once? With adding higher fibre foods the rule is slowly does it. Good luck with your reduced carb diet.
